Awesome Gaming on Linux Without Cheating
Epic is rebuilding Linux Easy Anti-Cheat around signed kernels, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot, starting with Fortnite.
Epic Games said it is rebuilding Easy Anti-Cheat for Linux as EAC Linux v2 so protection is closer to Windows and more games, including Fortnite, can run on Linux. Protected play will require a kernel and modules signed with well-known keys, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot with attestation, plus a systemd service that runs only while a protected game is open. Epic said it will rely on measured boot, kernel lockdown, IOMMU, and its own eBPF logic instead of a kernel module, and will pilot the system in Fortnite before offering it to other developers.
