Researchers from Calif demonstrated a working untethered jailbreak for iOS 27.0.1 on an iPhone 18 Pro at Hexacon 2026 in Paris. After a reboot, the device restored the jailbreak without a computer, and SSH on port 2222 provided a root shell; the demo identified Darwin kernel 27.0.0 and chip T8160. Calif has not named the bugs, no CVEs are confirmed, and no public tool has been released. Reports called it the first reboot-persistent jailbreak since iOS 9, while noting that immediate risk is limited until details or tooling become public.
