Meta and Microsoft Limit Employee Use of Claude AI Tools
Microsoft and Meta are limiting employee use of Anthropic's Claude in favor of their own coding tools.
The Information reported that Microsoft and Meta are sharply reducing employees' use of Anthropic's Claude while favoring internal coding tools. Microsoft's expected internal Anthropic spend, previously above $1 billion a year, fell by more than a third after caps in its cloud and AI group dropped from $100,000 to about $10,000 per employee in most cases. Meta's Claude Code users fell from about 60,000 to 30,000 as MetaCode and Muse Code grew, though Meta still spent over $105 million on Claude Code in 28 days. Customer use of Claude through Microsoft reportedly continues to rise.
