Replit is no longer working with Anthropic, CEO says
Replit's CEO says the company dropped Anthropic for OpenAI over cost and performance.
Replit CEO Amjad Masad said at TechCrunch Disrupt that Replit is no longer working with Anthropic, citing cost, partnership, and benchmark performance favoring Sol and Astra over Claude for building applications. Replit announced an OpenAI partnership in August, but a person familiar with the deal said the Anthropic relationship remained in place, and a September post cited Claude Fable 5 and 5.1 in Replit Agent production. Masad also said enterprise contracts grew from about 2% of revenue last year to 15%, with more than half of revenue now B2B, and discussed sandboxing and authorization for safer agent deployment.
