Replit is no longer working with Anthropic, CEO says
Replit’s CEO says OpenAI’s ChatGPT is now the default for Replit Agent over Anthropic.
Replit CEO Amjad Masad said at TechCrunch Disrupt that OpenAI is now the preferred partner for Replit Agent, citing cost, partnership, and performance. He later clarified that Replit remains model-agnostic and customers can still use Anthropic’s Claude, while ChatGPT is the default. Replit previously ran on Claude and Masad said it had recently been a top-five Anthropic customer. He also said enterprise contracts are about 15% of revenue this year, up from about 2%, and more than half of revenue is B2B.
