OpenAI launches Decisions API that reduces complex evaluations to yes, no, or pick one

OpenAI launched the Decisions API in public beta, saying it evaluates text, images, or both about ten times faster than the Responses API. Only gpt-6-luna is supported, priced at $0.10 per million input tokens with free output tokens. Responses cover yes/no probabilities, predefined categories, and scale ratings, with zero-data retention and HIPAA-compliant options in the US and Europe. OpenAI also cut paid API tiers from five to three—Build, Launch, and Grow—with monthly limits of $500, $5,000, and $200,000.
