ScrollEd wants to turn textbooks into TikTok
Startup ScrollEd launched an app that converts textbooks and PDFs into TikTok-style AI-generated video feeds with quizzes, debuting at TechCrunch Disrupt.
ScrollEd, a bootstrapped Palo Alto startup founded by Stanford student Utsav Gupta and UPenn student Rebecca Neff, has built an app that turns any text file into a vertical short-form feed of AI-generated video, audio, text, and interactive quizzes. The company is pitching in the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 competition and launching its consumer business at the October 13-15 event in San Francisco. It uses a freemium model combining a free consumer feed, a paid ScrollEd Pro subscription, and annual institutional licenses that include engagement and lesson-progress reporting.
