Many expect AI in the SOC to make entry jobs harder to get
A Swimlane survey finds most SOC staff expect AI to make entry-level analyst jobs harder.
A Swimlane survey of 500 security operations staff at organizations already using AI found nearly nine in ten say AI made their work more satisfying, while about a quarter say it held back skill building. Only 1 percent expect the analyst career path to stay unchanged; nearly half expect entry-level jobs to become harder to get, and the most common expectation is new roles overseeing AI systems. More than nine in ten say they can catch a bad AI recommendation, but over-reliance on AI topped their concerns. Among teams with a formal role redesign, 71 percent reported a significant satisfaction gain, versus 29 percent without one.
