Burger King Japan Data Breach Impacted 11 Million Customers
Burger King Japan says attackers exposed personal data of 11.18 million official app members.
Burger King Japan disclosed that a third party accessed its official-app membership system between October 2 and October 7, 2026, exposing personal data of about 11.18 million members. The leak, confirmed October 13 and announced October 15, includes membership IDs, names, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, gender, prefecture, and account status, but not credit card numbers or passwords. The company blocked the source, formed an incident team, engaged outside specialists, and reported the breach to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission. No fraud is confirmed, but stolen identity details could fuel targeted phishing.
