Kyiv internet providers report major outages after Russian attacks damage data centers
Russian strikes damaged Kyiv data centers, disrupting internet for about 100,000 households.
Russian drone strikes this week damaged data centers and telecommunications sites in Kyiv, and NetBlocks reported partial outages at Kyiv Link, Pautina, Utels, and Crazy Network. Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation said about 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region had internet problems; Utels restored most service in about two hours after a data center lost power, while Pautina said nearly half its network went down. Russia's Defense Ministry claimed it hit the New-Telco and United DC centers, which Ukraine has not confirmed. The strikes killed two people and injured at least 43. Separately, a fire at an Exatel-operated Starlink ground station in Poland is being investigated as possible sabotage.
