Ubuntu USN-8729-6 patches multiple Linux kernel flaws for AWS deployments across architectures and drivers.
Ubuntu issued USN-8729-6 for the AWS-specific Linux kernel package, correcting several security issues an attacker could possibly use to compromise the system. The update spans ARM32, ARM64, and PowerPC architectures along with Bluetooth, GPU, InfiniBand, SCSI, and Microsoft Azure Network Adapter (MANA) drivers. It also fixes flaws in EFI core, the Compute Acceleration Framework, SMB/NTFS3/network file systems, and file system infrastructure.
