Elementor Pro Flaw Could Let Unauthenticated Attackers Upload PHP and Execute Code

Patchstack disclosed CVE-2026-32475 (CVSS 9.0), an unauthenticated file-upload flaw in Elementor Pro enabling PHP upload and RCE; fixed in version 4.2.2.

Patchstack researcher Tin Pham reported an unrestricted file upload flaw in Elementor Pro's Forms module (CVE-2026-32475, CVSS 9.0), affecting all versions up to and including 4.2.1. Submitting two file parts for one field bypasses the extension blocklist and writes attacker-controlled PHP into a public uploads directory, yielding unauthenticated remote code execution when a published Elementor page uses a Form widget with a File Upload field. A patched version 4.2.2 shipped August 19, 2026, a day after WordPress 7.0.4 fixed CVE-2026-65640 (CVSS 8.8), an RCE via Postscript file upload when Imagick and Ghostscript are in use.

Jellyfin 12.0 Released With Security Fixes for Unauthorized File Access and XSS Flaws

Jellyfin 12.0 fixes unauthorized file access and web client XSS flaws, but requires careful upgrades due to breaking database migrations and plugin changes.

The open-source media server release prevents crafted requests from reading files outside designated directories, blocks unauthorized re-runs of the setup wizard, rejects plugin packages with unsafe names, strengthens parental control enforcement, and fixes cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in browser-based administration and media access workflows. Upgrades require a manual backup because the database schema migration is irreversible; supported paths start from version 10.10.7 or 10.11.x, and duplicate case-insensitive usernames will break migration. The release also retires legacy /emby/ and /mediabrowser/ routes, disables deprecated authentication by default, and targets .NET 10, requiring plugin rebuilds.

Unauthenticated RCE Flaws Could Expose 200,000+ WordPress Sites to Takeover

Two unauthenticated CVSS 9.8 code-injection and PHP object injection flaws in The Events Calendar plugin expose 200,000+ WordPress sites to RCE and takeover.

Defiant identified two critical vulnerabilities in The Events Calendar WordPress plugin, which has over 600,000 active installations. CVE-2026-78159, unauthenticated code injection during single-event HTML processing, was patched in version 6.17.3.1 on August 25; CVE-2026-78006, unauthenticated PHP object injection via event comments, was patched in 6.17.4.1 on September 10. Both independent chains lead to remote code execution and full site compromise. Roughly 240,000 sites run versions vulnerable to both flaws, and about 300,000 downloads between September 10 and 14 suggest half of installations may still lack the second fix.

Five Critical WordPress Plugin and Theme Flaws Enable Site Takeover or RCE

Five critical flaws (CVSS 9.8–10.0) in WPMU DEV Dashboard, Avada, TranslatePress, Pods, and GiveWP enable WordPress admin takeover and RCE.

Wordfence and Patchstack disclosed five critical flaws in WordPress plugins and themes: WPMU DEV Dashboard, Avada, TranslatePress, Pods, and GiveWP. The issues include unauthenticated authentication bypass (CVE-2026-76581), arbitrary file write leading to RCE (CVE-2026-18431), administrator account takeover via password-reset URL exposure (CVE-2026-19632), privilege escalation (CVE-2026-19598), and PHP object injection to RCE (CVE-2026-82222, CVSS 10.0). Patchstack says the GiveWP flaw chains an unsafe unserialize helper, attacker-controlled donation data, and a gadget chain in shipped code.

Decade-old PostgreSQL flaw turns backup account into a backdoor

Cyera disclosed CVE-2026-6471, a decade-old PostgreSQL flaw letting REPLICATION-attribute accounts achieve RCE and superuser compromise, patched August 13.

Cyera Research's 'PostGREShell' flaw exists in PostgreSQL's logical replication output plugin loading, where the replication code path never called the library-path security check, allowing path traversal or UNC paths to load arbitrary code. A low-privilege backup account can achieve code execution on Windows, Linux, and macOS, then escalate to superuser with persistent backdoor access. CVE-2026-6471 affects versions back to PostgreSQL 9.4 (2014) and was patched in releases 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 on August 13. CVSS is 7.2, and no exploitation of this specific CVE has been confirmed, though VirusTotal hunting found 114 malicious PostgreSQL plugins.

PostgreSQL Fixes 12-Year-Old Logical Decoding Flaw Enabling Replication-Role Code Execution

PostgreSQL fixed CVE-2026-6471 (CVSS 7.2), a 12-year-old logical decoding flaw letting replication-role accounts execute arbitrary code as the database OS user.

PostgreSQL patched CVE-2026-6471 (CVSS 7.2), a flaw present since logical decoding shipped in 9.4 (2014) that lets an account with the REPLICATION attribute run arbitrary code as the database server's OS user when wal_level is logical. Versions before 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 are affected; exploitation requires such an account, which backup, CDC, and monitoring tooling routinely holds. The fix adds an output_plugin_libraries whitelist, so administrators using non-default plugins such as wal2json and decoderbufs must add them and reload configuration after updating. Cyera Research, whose write-up names the flaw PostGREShell, demonstrated escalating a replication user to superuser with persistence; no PoC or KEV entry existed as of September 4.

cPanel ConfigServer Security & Firewall Vulnerability Allows Remote Attacker to Execute Arbitrary Commands

CSF 14.00–16.29 (CVE-2026-65638) lets unauthenticated attackers execute arbitrary commands via the MESSENGER service on cPanel/WHM servers; version 16.30 fixes it.

CVE-2026-65638 affects ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) versions 14.00 through 16.29 and allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the MESSENGER service, running under the unprivileged CSF service account rather than root. Exploitation requires the non-default MESSENGER service to be enabled and a reCAPTCHA secret configured, reducing exposure for standard deployments. CSF 16.30 and later fix the flaw; administrators who cannot update immediately can set MESSENGER = 0 in /etc/csf/csf.conf as a temporary mitigation.

LiteSpeed Enterprise Flaw Could Let One Hosting Account Gain Root Access on a Shared Server

cPanel warns critical LiteSpeed Web Server Enterprise flaw (pre-6.3.7) lets shared-hosting account users gain root access.

A cPanel advisory published September 14 warns that a critical vulnerability in LiteSpeed Web Server Enterprise versions before 6.3.7 lets a low-privilege website user gain root access on shared-hosting servers, bypassing CageFS account isolation. LiteSpeed released version 6.3.7 on September 11, but auto-update may be delayed so admins should force the update manually. No CVE identifier, severity score, workaround, or exploitation information has been published. This is the third LiteSpeed root flaw since May, following CVE-2026-48172 and CVE-2026-54420 in the cPanel plugin, which were both actively exploited and added to CISA's KEV catalog.
