ZDI-26-637: Oracle Outside In Technology GEM File Parsing Integer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
ZDI disclosed an integer overflow in Oracle Outside In Technology's GEM file parsing (CVE-2026-60413) enabling user-triggered remote code execution.
Zero Day Initiative published ZDI-26-637, a CVSS 7.8 integer overflow in GEM file parsing within Oracle Outside In Technology. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file or visiting a malicious page, and results in arbitrary code execution on affected installations. The flaw is tracked as CVE-2026-60413. No exploitation activity is reported.
Re: bubblewrap 0.12.0 fixes writes outside sandbox
Red Hat Product Security allocated CVE-2026-87766 for a bubblewrap flaw fixed in 0.12.0 that allowed writes outside the sandbox.
CVE-2026-87766 has been allocated by Red Hat Product Security for the bubblewrap sandboxing tool vulnerability that permitted writes outside the sandbox. The fix shipped in bubblewrap 0.12.0, and the oss-security advisory was updated with the new CVE identifier. The short follow-up post provides no exploitation details.
CVE-2026-87464: RCE outside sandbox in Chromium prior to 153.0.8010.36
CVE-2026-87464 is a critical use-after-free in Chrome's WebGL allowing sandbox-escaping RCE via crafted HTML pages, fixed in 153.0.8010.36.
Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 contains a use-after-free in WebGL that allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. Google rates it as Chromium security severity Critical, though tracker details are restricted. Debian indicates all current Chromium packages are affected, and the flaw likely impacts Chromium-derived browsers. No active exploitation is mentioned in the disclosure.
Homebrew 7.0.0 is out, here’s what changed for security
Homebrew 7.0.0 closes eight security advisories, including a High sudo execution bug fixed in 6.0.12, and ships brew vulns vulnerability scanning.
Homebrew 7.0.0 closes eight security advisories rated one High, two Moderate, and five Low. The High flaw let unsigned cask removal metadata execute commands with sudo (fixed in 6.0.12), while the 7.0.0 Moderate closes a LaunchServices escape that let a malicious cask execute code outside the macOS install sandbox. The release ships brew vulns, which checks installed formulae against OSV.dev, extends build attestation verification to third-party tap bottles, and replaces Bubblewrap with Landlock sandboxing on Linux.
Plesk Backup Manager Flaw Lets Low-Privileged Users Gain Root Access to Servers
CVE-2026-68488 in Plesk Backup Manager lets low-privileged subscription users exploit a symlink race during restores to gain root on Linux servers.
CVE-2026-68488 is a symlink race condition in Plesk Obsidian for Linux Backup Manager during subscription-content restore operations, allowing a user with Panel and FTP access to change ownership of files outside their subscription and escalate to full root access. Affected versions are Plesk for Linux 18.0.80.6 and earlier and 18.0.79.10 and earlier; Plesk for Windows is not affected. Patches are available in 18.0.80.7 and 18.0.79.11 or later. The flaw requires valid subscription access, so it is not unauthenticated remote code execution, but successful exploitation yields complete server compromise, especially dangerous in shared-hosting and multi-tenant deployments.
Alby Hub Critical Flaw Could Let Attackers Take Over Internet-Exposed Bitcoin Wallets
Alby warns a critical flaw in internet-exposed Alby Hub Bitcoin wallets (v1.7.0–v1.18.5) could allow takeover and fund theft; update to v1.24.0.
Alby disclosed a critical flaw in Alby Hub, its self-hosted Lightning wallet, affecting versions v1.7.0 through v1.18.5 when the management interface is reachable from the internet. The flaw could let attackers take over a wallet and send its funds; one affected user has been reported so far, with no word on losses. Versions v1.19.0 and later contain the fix, and Alby advises updating to v1.24.0, binding port 8080 to localhost or firewalled sources, and changing unlock passwords on previously exposed hubs. Full technical details will be published later under responsible disclosure.
Fwd: Security vulnerabilities fixed in WeeChat 4.10.1
WeeChat 4.10.1 fixes six security vulnerabilities, including WSA-2026-15 allowing DCC-received files to be written outside the configured directory.
WeeChat 4.10.1, released September 5, 2026, patches six security vulnerabilities tracked via project advisories such as WSA-2026-15. The Xfer issue lets a file received over DCC be written outside the configured directory. The announcement was forwarded by Sam James on the oss-security mailing list, and users should upgrade to 4.10.1.
Malicious .git Configs Can Make Claude, Codex, Cursor, and Other AI Agents Run Attacker Code
Malicious .git core.fsmonitor configs let attacker code run in AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex; four of eight flaws remain unpatched.
Manifold Security disclosed eight flaws across seven command-line AI coding agents where a repository's Git core.fsmonitor configuration causes agent-spawned commands to execute attacker code outside the sandbox and without approval prompts. Fixes shipped for goose (CVE-2026-72718, CVSS 4.0 score 7.0), Claude Code on one path, and Cursor, while Hermes Agent, Qwen Code, Grok Build, and a second Claude Code path were still unpatched as of September 1. OpenAI issued three CVEs for the same class in Codex, including CVE-2026-19592, and prior related bugs include CVE-2021-43891 in Visual Studio Code and CVE-2022-24346 in JetBrains IDEs. Exploitation requires the repository to arrive with its .git directory intact, such as via archives, shared drives, or USB sticks rather than an ordinary clone.
