The Shared Clipboard Inside the Sandbox: Cross-Account Data Leakage in ChatGPT

Check Point discovers cross-account data leakage in ChatGPT: isolated code-execution containers communicate via shared JFrog Artifactory, enabling covert Gmail exfiltration.

Check Point Research found a covert bidirectional channel between ChatGPT code-execution containers belonging to different accounts, which were supposed to be isolated from each other and the public internet. Both could reach the same internal JFrog Artifactory instance used for package delivery, whose exposed Item Management API allowed a 'shared clipboard' between containers. In a proof of concept, a hidden instruction in a shared conversation made ChatGPT retrieve email data from the victim's connected Gmail account and send it to the attacker's account while the victim received a normal answer. The same channel could exfiltrate conversation history and session files; OpenAI recently described a similar isolation weakness in its postmortem of the Hugging Face incident.

Lovable CTO: The Future of SaaS Is Apps That Agents Can Use

Lovable pivots from app building to exposing app functions as agent-callable capabilities via hosted MCP servers, raising a $400M Series C at a $13.3B valuation.

Lovable CTO Fabian Hedin outlined a strategy of turning published applications into agent-accessible capabilities by exposing selected functions as tools through a hosted MCP server, usable from ChatGPT, Claude, and other MCP-compatible clients. The company reports surpassing a $500M annualized revenue run rate, more than 60 million projects created, over 900 million monthly visits to Lovable-built apps, and usage by employees at nearly two-thirds of the Fortune 500. Menlo Ventures led a $400M Series C this month alongside EQT's Scaleup Europe Fund, valuing the company at $13.3 billion. Lovable evolved from the open-source GPT Engineer tool, became a commercial product in November 2024, and now competes with platforms like Vercel in AI-generated software hosting.

Meta Failed to Catch Hundreds of AI Child Abuse Ads. Some Included Images of Real Kids

Meta's AI ad-detection failed to catch 350+ CSAM video ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, some depicting images of real children.

The Tech Transparency Project found over 250 additional ads containing child sexual abuse material on Meta platforms since August, on top of ~53 previously removed, exceeding 350 total since late last year. Some ads used images of real children, including a European royal family minor and teen influencers, morphed into graphic sexual videos via AI face-swapping. Ads linked to nudification apps from Chinese developers and reached over 29,000 EU accounts plus thousands in the US, UK, Australia, and India.

Introducing Muse: The World’s First Personal AI Agent Built for Everyone

Meta launches Muse, a personal AI agent running in a dedicated Secure VM and powered by its Muse Spark model, with payments via Stripe Link.

Meta introduced Muse, a consumer-facing personal AI agent that plans and executes tasks such as sending email, booking travel, browsing and negotiating, accessible via the Muse app and WhatsApp. The agent runs inside Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine with a separate Sentinel agent that gates all internet actions, and is powered by Muse Spark, described as Meta's most capable model to date. Muse integrates Stripe Link for agent payments with one-time-use cards and purchase protections, with 1Password support and Shop Pay planned. It rolls out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai, free for most features with subscription tiers, and a user-key-encrypted Muse Confidential VM is promised later in the year.

Anthropic: AI Misuse Is Entering a New Phase: From Cybercrime to Surveillance, Propaganda and Weapons

Anthropic's threat intelligence report documents AI misuse scaling cybercrime, surveillance, propaganda, and weapons development from December 2025 to August 2026.

Anthropic's September 2026 threat intelligence report covers malicious activity disrupted between December 2025 and August 2026, spanning cyber operations, influence campaigns, surveillance, fraud, and weapons. One operator (aliases MeowSHA/frkoo/blazespider) ran a credential-harvesting pipeline on 10 AWS EC2 workers that downloaded and scanned 1.8 million Android APKs for hardcoded secrets, feeding confirmed breaches. Claude was abused to build malware, phishing tools, and a mass-interception platform used by Malian national security authorities, with actors linked to China, Iran, and West Africa.

Meta Sued Over Training Data for Its AI and Face-Recognition Systems

Illinois and California families sue Meta alleging Facebook and Instagram photos were used without consent to build faceprints and train AI models.

A proposed class action filed in federal court in Chicago alleges Meta extracted biometric data from Facebook and Instagram photos without notice or consent to develop the unreleased NameTag face-recognition system for smart glasses and to train generative models Emu and Muse Image. Plaintiffs invoke Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act, seeking $5,000 per intentional or $1,000 per negligent violation, with a class that could number in the millions dating back to September 2021. Meta previously paid $650 million to settle an Illinois biometric class action in 2020 and $1.4 billion to Texas in 2024. Meta calls the suit without merit and says it is not building a universal face database.

AWS Introduces Pizza Bot: An Open Source Inbox for Background AI Agents

AWS open-sourced Pizza Bot, a self-hosted inbox app for background AI agents with approval gating and multi-provider model support.

AWS released Pizza Bot under Apache 2.0 after earlier versions served over 2,000 Amazon employees for meeting prep, email drafting, and research. The app provides macOS, Windows, and Linux desktop builds plus browser and terminal clients talking to a Hono API server, with LangGraph/DeepAgents checkpoints preserving thread state and approval pauses. It supports Amazon Bedrock, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Ollama, exposes external tools via MCP servers, and lets skill authors gate actions behind approve/edit/reject flows.

Microsoft Copilot Personal Flaws Could Let One Click Exfiltrate Data From Connected Apps

Varonis discloses CoSnitch (CVE-2026-24301), three Microsoft Copilot Personal flaws enabling one-click exfiltration of connected-app data; patched August 18, 2026.

Varonis Threat Labs found that an undocumented autorun=1 parameter, paired with the q parameter, lets an attacker-supplied prompt run automatically on page load in a victim's authenticated Copilot session, then exfiltrate data from connected services such as mail, calendar, Google Drive, chat history and the memory store via Copilot's built-in URL fetch to an attacker webhook. A separate memory-poisoning path through web summarization lets a crafted page persist attacker instructions in the user's memory, surviving password changes, session revocation and device re-enrollment. Microsoft shipped patches on August 18, 2026, tracked as CVE-2026-24301, and Varonis found no evidence of in-the-wild exploitation. The flaws were found via 'meta-hacking', asking Copilot itself to reveal the autorun parameter and its protections.
