NVIDIA makes cuDSS generally available for industrial simulation
First merged summary.
NVIDIA released cuDSS for general availability at GTC Berlin as partners report simulation speedups and factory AI use.
NVIDIA said cuDSS, a CUDA-X library for large sparse linear systems, is generally available and moves a repeated simulation step onto GPUs. It scales from workstations to clusters and offers C, C++, Python, and Fortran interfaces. Applied Materials, COMSOL with ZEISS SMT, Cadence, Dassault Systèmes, Siemens, and Synopsys say they are integrating it. A companion post says European manufacturers are also using CUDA-X, Omniverse, Cosmos, and Nemotron, and that the Factory Operations Blueprint is in early access on GitHub. NVIDIA is showing the work at GTC Berlin.
- Applied Materials reports up to 10x faster sparse solves in Ginestra versus CPU-only.
- ZEISS SMT measured a 4x EUV plasma speedup, finishing in six days and 14 hours.
- Dassault Systèmes reports an 8-10x speedup in Abaqus solvers.
- Siemens cites an estimated 20% cost saving from FOX agents.
- imec reports up to 40x for S-Litho; Infineon reports 12x for 3D breakdown simulation.
