Google tests Gemini Call for Me on Pixel 11

Google is testing Gemini Call for Me so paying US Pixel 11 owners can have the assistant phone businesses for them.

Google is testing Call for Me, a Gemini feature that phones businesses for a user. Access is limited to US Pixel 11 owners with a paid Gemini subscription and the beta Phone app; The Verge describes the same rollout as an early preview for those subscribers. Calls go out from the user’s own number, and Gemini can share user-approved personal details, work through menus, wait on hold, and handle reservations, appointment changes, and stock checks while the user watches a live transcript and can take over. TechCrunch says the feature extends Ask for Me, Hold for Me, and Direct My Call, while The Decoder says it builds on Google Duplex and notes that Meta’s Muse and Instinct agents can also make calls. The Verge adds that the feature is meant to let users delegate local business interactions without waiting on hold themselves.
