Apple October 2026 updates patch 304 flaws, including prior exploit
Already exploited CoreGraphics flaw CVE-2026-86950 now gets iOS 18 fixes; no newly exploited bug is flagged.
Out-of-bounds write when processing video on Apple OSes
An out-of-bounds write in Apple media handling was fixed with tighter bounds checking. It is triggered by processing a maliciously crafted video file, which requires the user to open or otherwise process that file. Successful processing can crash the app. Apple lists fixes for current iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and visionOS releases.
What to do: Install the Apple updates that include iOS/iPadOS 26.7.2 or 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, Sequoia 15.8.2, or Tahoe 26.7.2, tvOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2.
