The release addresses memory corruption, sandbox escape, kernel writes, and unauthorized access to sensitive user data across many components.
Unauthorized Bluetooth access by a malicious app on iOS and iPadOS
An authentication flaw in Apple’s Bluetooth state handling lets a malicious app access Bluetooth without the user’s consent. The app must already be on the device; no further consent is required for that access. Apple fixed it in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, and in iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2. Affected builds before those releases are not listed.
What to do: Update to iOS 26.7.2 or 27.2, or iPadOS 26.7.2 or 27.2, which include the fix.
| Product | Affected | Fixed in |
|---|---|---|
| Apple iOS | — | 26.7.2 and 27.2 |
| Apple iPadOS | — | 26.7.2 and 27.2 |
