Out-of-bounds write via crafted image on Apple OS
An out-of-bounds write in Apple’s image handling can crash an app when it processes a maliciously crafted image. A remote attacker needs the user to open or otherwise process that image; no privileges are required. Impact is limited to unexpected app termination (availability). It affects iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS builds that lack the listed updates.
What to do: Install iOS/iPadOS 26.7.2 or 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, Sequoia 15.8.2, Tahoe 26.7.2, or visionOS 27.2. No workaround is stated.
