Out-of-bounds read when processing files on Apple OSes
Apple fixed an out-of-bounds read by improving bounds checking. Processing a maliciously crafted file can terminate the app unexpectedly. A user must open or otherwise process that file; the described impact is a crash, not further access. Fixes cover listed iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS releases. Apple has not listed affected version ranges.
What to do: Update to iOS and iPadOS 26.7.2 or 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, and macOS Golden Gate, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS 27.2.
