Apple iOS 27.2 fixes 163 flaws, including critical WebKit RCE
The release addresses memory corruption, sandbox escape, kernel writes, and unauthorized access to sensitive user data across many components.
Out-of-bounds access via crafted media on Apple OS
An out-of-bounds access flaw in Apple media handling was fixed with tighter bounds checking. Opening or otherwise processing a maliciously crafted media file can crash the app or corrupt process memory. It affects users of the listed iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and visionOS releases before the fixes. The file must be processed; no further attacker outcome is described.
What to do: Install the fixed releases: iOS/iPadOS 26.7 or 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, Sequoia 15.8.2, Tahoe 26.7.2, tvOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2.
