EPICS Base 7.0.11 fixes four severe bugs, one rated 9.8
Causal Security’s Cipher agent reported the flaws in under four hours; CISA warns of crashes, memory disclosure or possible code execution.
Integer overflow in EPICS Base protocol parsing through 7.0.10
EPICS Base 7.0.10 and earlier does not properly check message length values while parsing protocol messages. An integer overflow can lead to an out-of-bounds memory write. A remote attacker can trigger this over the network with no authentication or user interaction, causing process instability or denial of service and limited integrity impact.
What to do: Move off EPICS Base 7.0.10 and earlier. A specific fixed release is not stated for CVE-2026-114596.

In EPICS Base release 7.0.10 and prior, an improper validation of message length values during protocol parsing can trigger an integer overflow, resulting in an out-of-bounds memory write. Successful exploitation can cause process instability or denial of service.
Causal Security’s Cipher agent reported the flaws in under four hours; CISA warns of crashes, memory disclosure or possible code execution.
Base 7.0.10 and earlier is affected; 7.0.11 is the fix, and CISA reports no public exploitation.
Update to EPICS Base 7.0.11; the worst flaw can corrupt memory and may allow remote code execution.
