HPE patches Aruba AOS-8 SSH authentication bypass and dozens of other flaws
Bulletin HPESBNW05162 covers 72 AOS-8 and AOS-10 flaws, several scored CVSS 10.0 for unauthenticated remote code execution.
Unauthenticated command injection in Aruba AOS-8 PAPI
A command-injection flaw in the PAPI access-point management protocol of HPE Aruba AOS-8 lets a remote attacker send crafted packets to the affected UDP port with no authentication or user interaction. Successful exploitation runs arbitrary code as a privileged user on the underlying operating system. AOS-8 systems exposing that UDP port are affected; HPE has not listed affected builds.
What to do: Apply HPE's update for CVE-2026-79857. HPE has not named a fixed version or workaround.
