AWS is using Qualcomm for AI inference while Qualcomm uses AWS Bedrock to design the chips

Qualcomm will design custom AI inference chips for AWS while using Bedrock for chip design, its third major data center win since June.

Qualcomm is designing custom AI inference chips for AWS across multiple product generations and co-developing optical interconnects with up to 1.6 Tbps bandwidth. In return, Qualcomm uses Amazon Bedrock to accelerate its chip design process. The deal is Qualcomm's third major data center win since June, after Meta adopted the Dragonfly C1000 server processor and Microsoft began deploying Qualcomm's HBC memory architecture in Azure; Qualcomm targets $15 billion in data center revenue by 2029.

OpenAI launches GPT-6 Astra, its first model to cross a critical cybersecurity threshold

OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra, its first model rated Critical for cybersecurity risk, scoring 100% on ExploitBench and finding two new zero-days.

OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra, disclosing it crossed the Critical threshold for cybersecurity risk under its Preparedness Framework, triggering additional deployment restrictions such as manual enterprise enablement. The model scored 100% on ExploitBench (vs 78.5% for predecessor GPT-5.6 Sol) and 42.4% on ExploitGym (vs 30.3%), and found two previously unknown zero-day vulnerabilities in software released in the three months before launch. It is available to limited organizations first, then ChatGPT Plus/Pro/Business/Enterprise users and the API (gpt-6-astra, $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens) and Amazon Bedrock. OpenAI reports decreased chain-of-thought monitorability versus Sol, 0% out-of-scope behavior in its new evaluation (vs 48% for Sol), and plans a Daybreak program for vetted defenders.

Anthropic's Enterprise Frontier Safeguards lets your Claude logs stay in your cloud

Anthropic launches Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, letting regulated customers keep Claude usage logs in their own cloud storage under their own keys with automated misuse detection.

Anthropic unveiled Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, co-designed with eight members of the Analysis and Resilience Center for Systemic Risk and more than 100 customers including Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Visa, Mastercard, Comcast, KPMG, and Salesforce. Misuse-detection activity data can live in the customer's Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage under customer-managed keys, with fully automated review and no human inspection by Anthropic; automated systems watch for offensive cyber or biological capability development and signs of stolen credentials. The offering replaces the friction around Fable 5's 30-day retention policy, costs nothing extra, spans Claude Enterprise, Claude Platform, Amazon Bedrock, Google's Agent Platform, and Microsoft Foundry, with broad availability targeted for later this fall.

Wazuh and AI For Enhanced SOC Workflows

Wazuh details AI-powered SOC workflows via its AI Analyst, self-hosted Llama 3 via Ollama, and Claude 3.5 Haiku integrations.

Wazuh outlines how AI can augment SOC analysts handling high alert volumes. The Wazuh AI Analyst on Wazuh Cloud uses Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic Claude to generate scheduled security posture reports. Self-hosted options include Llama 3 with Ollama, FAISS, and LangChain for privacy-sensitive threat hunting, plus an OpenSearch Assistant integration with Claude 3.5 Haiku. This is a vendor-contributed piece describing product capabilities rather than an incident or vulnerability.

When AI Remembers Too Much

Unit 42 PoC shows indirect prompt injection can poison Amazon Bedrock Agent long-term memory, enabling silent exfiltration of conversation history across future sessions.

Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 published a proof of concept showing that indirect prompt injection can silently poison the long-term memory of Amazon Bedrock Agents when the memory feature is enabled. Malicious content on a webpage or document manipulates the agent's session summarization process, so injected instructions persist across sessions and are added to later orchestration prompts, silently exfiltrating user conversation history. The issue is not a vulnerability in the Amazon Bedrock platform but an illustration of the broader unsolved LLM prompt-injection challenge. Amazon reviewed the research and stated that Bedrock Guardrails with the prompt-attack policy provides effective mitigation.

When an Attacker Meets a Group of Agents: Navigating Amazon Bedrock's Multi

Unit 42 red-teamed Amazon Bedrock multi-agent applications, demonstrating prompt-injection attack chains that leak agent instructions and invoke tools, mitigated by Bedrock Guardrails.

Unit 42 red-teamed Amazon Bedrock Agents' multi-agent collaboration in Supervisor and Supervisor with Routing modes. The demonstrated attack chain detects the operating mode, discovers collaborator agents, delivers attacker-controlled payloads, and can disclose agent instructions and tool schemas and invoke tools with attacker-supplied inputs. No vulnerabilities were found in Bedrock itself, and the built-in prompt attack Guardrail blocked the attacks when properly configured. The researchers collaborated with Amazon's security team and frame the findings as a broader prompt injection risk for LLM-based systems.

DataGrout helps enterprises control AI usage, governance and LLM costs

SelectHub launched DataGrout, an LLM cost and governance platform combining dynamic context pruning, symbolic inference and MCP gating, claiming about 60% token reduction.

SelectHub launched DataGrout, an LLM inference optimization and AI governance platform combining dynamic context pruning, a symbolic inference layer, and an MCP gateway with per-call token and cost monitoring. Early tests claim roughly 60% token reduction on data-intensive ERP and CRM integration tasks without accuracy loss. The platform connects via its Conduit SDK, MCP or JSON-RPC, offers its own MCP servers for SaaS apps such as Salesforce, SAP and ServiceNow, and supports bring-your-own-key LLM access or gateways like Amazon Bedrock and Kong.
