At DevDay 2026 in San Francisco, OpenAI expanded Codex and its API platform. Codex cloud environments are now persistent, reusable, and configurable, so tasks can run from a computer, phone, or the cloud with shared team settings. A reworked Codex CLI adds voice control, an /agents view for parallel tasks, and a cleaner terminal, while the ChatGPT desktop app gained a code review view that covers GitHub pull requests and GitLab merge requests. Codex Security Cloud scans entire GitHub repositories on demand, on a schedule, or on new commits, then investigates findings, deduplicates them, and prepares fixes, with access to models from OpenAI's Daybreak Blue defensive-security program. On the API side, the Agents API gains Computer Use, multi-agent features, Tool Search, and Context Compaction, and AWS Bedrock Managed Agents now supports building OpenAI agents running entirely on AWS. A Decisions API built on GPT-6 Luna returns answers ten times faster, and a new Ultrafast tier reaches 300 tokens per second in Codex at six times standard API pricing ($60/$300 per million tokens for GPT-6 Astra).
