2026 Birthday week: network performance update
Cloudflare says it is now fastest on 74% of the world's 1,000 largest networks.
Cloudflare said that in August 2026 it was the fastest provider on 74% of the 1,000 largest networks, ranked by APNIC user estimates, up from 60% in April. It reported becoming fastest on 150 additional networks and in 38 more countries, using trimean TCP handshake time. Measurements come from real browsers on Cloudflare error pages and, newly, a small sample of free Challenge Pages delivered by Turnstile, comparing Cloudflare with Amazon CloudFront, Google, Fastly, and Akamai. The post is a network-performance marketing update, not a security incident.
