Google opened pre-orders for Googlebook, an $899 Android laptop positioned above Chromebooks and built to surface Gemini on the device. Features include Magic Cursor, Rambler dictation cleanup, vibe-coded widgets, Gemini Spark, and Gemini Live, plus 12 months of Google AI Pro. Flagship units from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo use Intel or Qualcomm processors with NPUs, up to 2.8K OLED displays, and up to 14 hours of battery, with updates promised for up to 10 years. US retail starts October 4, with Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia following on October 5.
