Google’s Universal Cart shopping tool launches in the US
Google opened Universal Cart to U.S. shoppers, saving Search and Gemini finds and tracking prices.
Google launched Universal Cart for U.S. users, after previewing it at Google I/O in May. The tool saves products found in Search and the Gemini app across retailers and can notify shoppers of price drops or restocks. It can factor in credit-card perks and promo codes, with checkout tied to Google's Universal Commerce Protocol. Google already offers AI Mode product discovery and a store-calling agent; Amazon, OpenAI, and others are adding similar agentic commerce features.
