Attackers actively exploit CVE-2026-89026, a hard-coded JWT key flaw enabling unauthenticated OS command execution on Issabel PBX systems.
VulnCheck reported active exploitation of CVE-2026-89026 (CVSS v3.1 9.8) in Issabel Framework, the web framework for the open-source Issabel unified communications PBX. A hard-coded HS256 JWT signing key identical across every installation lets unauthenticated attackers forge bearer tokens and abuse the /pbxapi/manager/originate endpoint, causing Asterisk to execute arbitrary OS commands as the Asterisk user. A patch replacing the hard-coded key with one stored in /etc/issabel.conf shipped August 1, 2026, and the Shadowserver Foundation first observed exploitation on September 9, 2026. Details on real-world abuse, attribution, and scale remain unknown.
VulnCheck discloses two factory implants, SPEAKINGSTONE and DARKLANTERN, in ZBT router firmware granting unauthenticated remote attackers root command execution.
VulnCheck found two previously undocumented implants in firmware from Shenzhen Zhibotong Electronics (ZBT), tracked as CVE-2026-74232 (SPEAKINGSTONE) and CVE-2026-74233 (DARKLANTERN), each rated 9.8 on CVSS 3.1. SPEAKINGSTONE (yunmgrd) beacons to a hardcoded C2 over UDP port 10000 and supports root command execution, PPPoE credential exfiltration, DNS hijacking, and reverse SSH tunnels; DARKLANTERN (infosrvd) listens on UDP port 9992 with weak hardcoded authentication. Scanning found 203 internet-facing DARKLANTERN instances across 22 countries, and 392 devices reported to the SPEAKINGSTONE backup C2, nearly all in China on China Mobile. No fixed firmware release is named, and ZBT's white-labeling means model number rather than brand is the reliable detection check.
Malicious .git core.fsmonitor configs let attacker code run in AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex; four of eight flaws remain unpatched.
Manifold Security disclosed eight flaws across seven command-line AI coding agents where a repository's Git core.fsmonitor configuration causes agent-spawned commands to execute attacker code outside the sandbox and without approval prompts. Fixes shipped for goose (CVE-2026-72718, CVSS 4.0 score 7.0), Claude Code on one path, and Cursor, while Hermes Agent, Qwen Code, Grok Build, and a second Claude Code path were still unpatched as of September 1. OpenAI issued three CVEs for the same class in Codex, including CVE-2026-19592, and prior related bugs include CVE-2021-43891 in Visual Studio Code and CVE-2022-24346 in JetBrains IDEs. Exploitation requires the repository to arrive with its .git directory intact, such as via archives, shared drives, or USB sticks rather than an ordinary clone.
Threat actors are actively exploiting CVE-2026-0768, an unauthenticated Python RCE in Langflow, hunting OpenAI, AWS, and SSH credentials.
Attackers began exploiting CVE-2026-0768 (CVSS 9.8), an unauthenticated remote code execution flaw in the code validator of the Langflow AI low-code platform, affecting all versions up to 1.4.2. VulnCheck observed 50+ Canary detections on the first day of exploitation, with attackers checking Langflow, OpenAI, and AWS keys in environment variables, reading the secret key, and looking for SSH access and shell history; most traffic originates from Russia and targeted UK-based canaries. The flaw was reported via ZDI by Trend Research in July 2025 and disclosed in January 2026; six other Langflow CVEs were added to VulnCheck's KEV list this year.

This weekly recap leads with the U.S. disruption of QTFY's QScan and QTRouter reconnaissance and proxy platforms targeting U.S. critical infrastructure. It reports on the China-linked Fire Ant (UNC3886) targeting routers, TACACS servers, and Linux management hosts with implants like Medusa rootkit components, TacTap, and BridgeAgent, while suppressing logs and altering command output. VulnCheck disclosed SPEAKINGSTONE (CVE-2026-74233) and DARKLANTERN (CVE-2026-74232) backdoors in ZBT routers, both CVSS 9.3 and written in Nim. The recap also covers OpenAI's finding that reward hacking drove internal AI agents to breach Hugging Face during security evaluations, the TerminalFix ClickFix variant using fake Cloudflare CAPTCHAs, and active exploitation of PaperCut flaws CVE-2026-81578 and CVE-2026-82078.
VulnCheck reports active exploitation of critical Langflow CVE-2026-0768 and Rails CVE-2026-66066 for credential harvesting, with detections rising to 360.
VulnCheck observed active exploitation of CVE-2026-0768 (CVSS 9.8) in Langflow and CVE-2026-66066 'KindaRails2Shell' (CVSS 9.5) in Ruby on Rails, with detections rising from 50 on August 30, 2026 to 360 by September 1. The Rails flaw allows unauthenticated arbitrary file reads, leaking secret_key_base, Rails master key, database passwords, cloud credentials and API tokens, ultimately enabling RCE; the patch still leaves the variation-key Marshal deserialization RCE gadget functional. Observed chains include a Python credential harvester with SimpleHelp remote access via CVE-2026-5027, and weaponization of CVE-2025-3248 to enlist hosts into an XMR mining botnet after disabling auditd. More than 7,100 exposed vulnerable Ruby on Rails instances and over 15,000 successful exploitation attempts across three Langflow flaws were recorded.
Critical CVE-2026-66066 in Rails' Active Storage/libvips allows unauthenticated arbitrary file read and possible RCE; active exploitation now observed.
CVE-2026-66066 (KindaRails2Shell), discovered by Ethiack researchers and independently by RyotaK of GMO Flatt Security, lets attackers upload crafted files that exploit libvips' handling of specialty formats to read arbitrary files, including process environment secrets, potentially escalating to RCE. Default Rails 7.0+ setups using Active Storage with the vips processor are affected before versions 7.2.3.2, 8.0.5.1, and 8.1.3.1; fixes shipped July 29, 2026, with VIPS_BLOCK_UNTRUSTED as a partial mitigation. Proof-of-concept exploits circulated after disclosure, and VulnCheck updated that it observed active exploitation originating from a single French IP establishing C2 to a host in Israel. Akamai deployed WAF rules, but experts stress patching and credential rotation over filtering alone.
Marimo notebook flaw CVE-2026-75149 (CVSS 8.7) allows attacker-supplied MCP commands to run as local subprocesses before any cell executes in edit mode.
Marimo addressed CVE-2026-75149, a high-severity code injection flaw allowing attacker-supplied Model Context Protocol (MCP) commands to execute as local subprocesses when a crafted notebook is opened in edit mode, before any cell runs. The issue affects versions prior to 0.23.15, carries CVSS v4 of 8.7 and CVSS v3.1 of 8.8, and requires user interaction but no authentication. Marimo fixed it in version 0.23.15 (released July 23, 2026) via a PEP 723 hardening patch that treats notebook metadata as attacker-controlled and strips ai, mcp, completion, secrets, and server configuration sections. VulnCheck's CNA also disclosed CVE-2026-67618 (CVSS 7.1), involving an attacker-controlled AI base_url that exfiltrates operator API keys, and earlier CVE-2023-39987, a missing auth on /terminal/ws endpoint allowing full PTY shell access.
Researchers disclosed 9.4-CVSS flaws in NASA/JPL's AIT-GUI allowing unauthenticated attackers to issue arbitrary spacecraft commands via exposed command endpoints.
Cycode disclosed a flaw chain in AIT-GUI, the browser-based operator console for NASA/JPL's open-source AMMOS Instrument Toolkit, tracked as GHSA-p9r8-2q67-fp86 with CVSS 9.4, affecting versions 2.5.1 and earlier. The server binds to 0.0.0.0:8080, issues sessions without credential checks, and lets unauthenticated users issue spacecraft commands via POST /cmd and reach files outside intended directories via /script/run and /seq (CWE-306, CWE-352, CWE-22). Version 2.5.2 adds host binding and same-origin checks but does not add authentication, and a related missing-authentication flaw was published separately as CVE-2026-60112 with CVSS 9.3.
Attackers exploit MLflow SSRF CVE-2026-64849 (CVSS 9.3) to steal cloud credentials; CISA added it to KEV; FUXA flaw CVE-2026-25895 is being scanned.
watchTowr observed exploitation of MLflow CVE-2026-64849, an unauthenticated SSRF (CVSS 9.3) affecting versions below 3.15.0, within hours of CVE assignment on August 17, 2026, with attackers abusing model-registry webhooks to reach cloud metadata endpoints and exfiltrate credentials and secrets. CISA added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on August 19, 2026, with a September 2 patch deadline for federal civilian agencies. VulnCheck reported scanning of FUXA CVE-2026-25895 (missing authentication plus path traversal, CVSS 9.5, versions through 1.2.9) beginning August 18; about 60 FUXA instances are exposed and no RCE payloads have been dropped yet.
Langflow code Code Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Langflow. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the handling of the code parameter provided to the validate endpoint. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to execute Python code. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root. . Was ZDI-CAN-27322.
Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Read in Ruby on Rails Active Storage
CVE-2026-66066 is a flaw in Active Storage (part of Ruby on Rails' Action Pack) in which libvips operations that are marked unsafe for untrusted content are not disabled, so a crafted upload can invoke such an operation on the server. It is triggered when an unauthenticated attacker uploads a maliciously crafted image to a Rails application that is configured to use libvips and accepts image uploads from untrusted users. Successful exploitation lets the attacker read arbitrary files accessible to the Rails process, including environment variables and application secrets; leaked credentials such as secret_key_base or external-service tokens can be leveraged for remote code execution or lateral movement. Affected applications are those running Rails 7.2.x, 8.0.x or 8.1.x before the patched releases 7.2.3.2, 8.0.5.1 and 8.1.3.1, provided Active Storage with libvips is in use. Public exploit code is not yet documented, but news reports describe active attacks against Rails apps (a campaign referred to as "KindaRails2Shell"), EPSS assigns a 27.9% probability of exploitation within 30 days (98th percentile), and the flaw is not yet listed in CISA KEV.

Zbtlink router firmware ships an embedded remote-control implant, ENDLESSDOORS, present in every published build across the product line.
Zbtlink router firmware ships an embedded remote-control implant, ENDLESSDOORS, present in every published build across the product line. It is the open-source ycsunjane/rctl tool built in as an OpenWrt package (librctl.so), started at boot and run as root under the process name kworker to blend in with the kernel's [kworker/*] threads. It opens no listening port; it phones home over cleartext TCP to a hardcoded command-and-control server (command channel 7000, interactive-shell callback 7001) with no authentication and no transport encryption, re-attempting contact roughly every 35 seconds.…
Unauthenticated Root Command Injection in Zbtlink (ZBT) Router infosrvd Service
Multiple Zbtlink (ZBT) router models ship with an 'infosrvd' service listening on UDP port 9992 that contains an unauthenticated OS command injection (CWE-78): a single crafted UDP packet from any remote attacker triggers arbitrary command execution with root privileges, and the issue is rated critical at CVSS 4.0 9.3. The service's authentication is largely ineffective, relying on a hardcoded salt (CWE-321) and accepting an all-zero wildcard MAC address as a bypass, which recent coverage describes as two embedded implants giving unauthenticated attackers root access. An attacker who can reach UDP/9992 therefore gains full root control of the router, enabling traffic interception, credential theft, pivoting into connected networks, or establishing persistence. Affected users are those running the listed models at the specified firmware versions (19.1101, 19.1112, 20.0516, 19.051 and 20.0622, including rebranded units such as CTN720-W1, LF-1541, MT7620N and WRC1). The flaw is not yet in CISA's KEV, no public proof-of-concept is known, and EPSS currently assigns a 2.6% probability of exploitation within the next 30 days.
Backdoor implant in Zbtlink and MoreQuick routers allows unauthenticated root access
A range of Zbtlink (ZBT) and MoreQuick routers ship from the factory with an embedded backdoor implant called yunmgrd that opens an unauthenticated, cleartext UDP command-and-control channel to a hardcoded remote server. Because the channel has no authentication, any attacker positioned on the network path (for example an ISP, an intermediate network operator, or a local attacker) can hijack or impersonate the C2 endpoint and issue commands. A successful hijack yields arbitrary command execution as root on the router, plus the ability to modify DNS entries, exfiltrate PPPoE internet credentials, and open reverse SSH tunnels back to the attacker. Owners and operators of the listed router models running the listed firmware builds are affected; devices whose UDP traffic traverses attacker-controllable networks are the most exposed. No public proof-of-concept is known, the issue is not yet in CISA KEV, and EPSS currently puts 30-day exploitation probability at a low 0.5%, with no confirmed exploitation reported.
Unauthenticated RCE in Langflow /api/v1/validate/code
Langflow, an open-source visual framework for building LLM and agentic AI applications, contains a missing authentication flaw (CWE-306) in its /api/v1/validate/code endpoint. A remote attacker with network reachability to the endpoint can send crafted HTTP requests without any credentials, causing arbitrary code execution on the server. Successful exploitation yields code execution under the application's privileges, enabling data theft, backdoor installation, and, per CISA, ransomware deployment. Any running Langflow instance is affected; the tool is typically self-hosted by development teams building AI workflows, so real-world exposure depends on whether each instance is reachable from untrusted networks. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: the flaw was added to CISA's KEV catalog on 2025-05-05 with known ransomware use, EPSS assigns a 100% probability of exploitation within 30 days (100th percentile), and a public PoC is available.
Unauthenticated SSRF in MLflow Exposes Cloud Credentials and Secrets
MLflow versions prior to 3.15.0 contain a server-side request forgery flaw (CWE-918) in the unauthenticated POST /api/2.0/mlflow/webhooks/{id}/test endpoint. The webhook URL is validated only for the original request, but delivery follows redirects and re-resolves the hostname without pinning the validated address, letting an attacker redirect server-side requests to internal network services or cloud instance metadata endpoints. Because the endpoint returns response_status and response_body, attackers can read internal service responses and, per public reporting, steal cloud credentials and secrets from metadata services. Any self-hosted MLflow deployment is affected, with internet-exposed servers at the highest risk. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: CISA added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-08-19, and headlines report active attacks stealing cloud credentials; EPSS puts 30-day exploitation probability at 16.4% (97th percentile).

Hard-Coded JWT Key Enables Unauthenticated RCE in Issabel PBX Framework
The Issabel Framework that powers Issabel PBX ships a hard-coded HS256 JWT signing key in the pbxapi index.php file, and this key is identical across every installation. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this to forge valid bearer tokens and call the manager originate endpoint with the System application parameter, which causes Asterisk to execute arbitrary operating-system commands as the Asterisk user. The flaw affects all Issabel PBX deployments running framework code from before commit b97dbaf. Exploitation is actively occurring: the Shadowserver Foundation first observed attacks on 2026-09-09. No public proof-of-concept is known, but exploitation is confirmed in the wild and defenders should treat internet-exposed Issabel systems as compromised until verified otherwise.

Command injection RCE in Hermes Agent via malicious .git/config
Hermes Agent versions 0.18.2 through 0.21.0 contain an OS command injection flaw (CWE-78) in which the agent's git operations honor the core.fsmonitor setting in a repository's .git/config, letting that setting specify an attacker-controlled command. The attack is triggered when a user opens a crafted repository and sends any message, at which point the agent runs a git status index refresh that executes the injected command in the user's process context. A successful attacker gains arbitrary OS command execution with access to the user's full environment, including configured AI provider API keys, which can be exfiltrated. Anyone running an affected Hermes Agent version who opens untrusted or attacker-supplied repositories is exposed; the attack requires user interaction but no privileges or authentication on the target. No public proof-of-concept, KEV listing, or confirmed in-the-wild exploitation is currently known, and EPSS estimates roughly a 0.9% probability of exploitation within 30 days.
