Siemens Siveillance Control
Siemens Siveillance Control OIS flaw lets low-privilege attackers upload files and gain root.
CISA republished Siemens SSA-254516 for CVE-2026-50093, an unrestricted file-upload flaw in the Open Interface Services web module used by Siveillance Control and Control Pro. A low-privileged attacker on an adjacent network can upload arbitrary files and obtain root on the OIS server. CVSS 3.1 is 9.0. Fixed builds start at Control Pro 3.0.12.2173 and 4.0.9.2178, and Control 3.0.22.2177 and 4.0.11.2177. Siemens has released patches; exploitation is not reported.
- CVE-2026-50093 is unrestricted file upload with CVSS 9.0.
- Adjacent-network attackers with low privileges can gain root on OIS.
- Siveillance Control and Control Pro V3 and V4 need the listed updates.
- Sectors include critical manufacturing, communications, and commercial facilities.

| CVE-2026-50093 | Arbitrary File Upload in Siemens Siveillance Control OIS Web Module Leads to Root Access Siemens has disclosed an unrestricted file upload flaw (CWE-434) in the OIS web module of its Siveillance Control and Siveillance Control Pro building security management platforms. An attacker with low privileges and adjacent network access to the OIS environment can upload arbitrary files to the server. Successful exploitation can escalate to root access on the host system, resulting in a full compromise of the affected OIS environment. All affected branches are covered: Siveillance Control Pro V3.0 before V3.0.12.2173, Control Pro V4.0 before V4.0.9.2178, Control V3.0 before V3.0.22.2177, and Control V4.0 before V4.0.11.2177. There is no known public proof of concept, the issue is not in CISA's KEV catalog, and EPSS currently estimates only a 0.2% chance of exploitation in the next 30 days, indicating no known in-the-wild exploitation. |

Recommended Practices
CISA recommends users take defensive measures to minimize the exploitation risk of these vulnerabilities.
- Minimize network exposure for all control system devices and/or systems, and ensure they are not accessible from the internet.
- Locate control system networks and remote devices behind firewalls and isolate them from business networks.
- When remote access is required, use more secure methods, such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), recognizing VPNs may have vulnerabilities and should be updated to the most recent version available. Also recognize VPN is only as secure as its connected devices.
CISA reminds organizations to perform proper impact analysis and risk assessment prior to deploying defensive measures.
CISA also provides a section for control systems security recommended practices on the ICS webpage on cisa.gov. Several CISA products detailing cyber defense best practices are available for reading and download, including Improving Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity with Defense-in-Depth Strategies.
CISA encourages organizations to implement recommended cybersecurity strategies for proactive defense of ICS assets. Additional mitigation guidance and recommended practices are publicly available on the ICS webpage at cisa.gov in the technical information paper, ICS-TIP-12-146-01B--Targeted Cyber Intrusion Detection and Mitigation Strategies.
Organizations observing suspected malicious activity should follow established internal procedures and report findings to CISA for tracking and correlation against other incidents.
