Airrived adds Agentic Observability to track AI agent actions and risks

Airrived launches Agentic Observability to give enterprises end-to-end visibility into AI agent actions, permissions, data flows, and costs.

Airrived announced Agentic Observability, an expansion of its enterprise Agentic OS that traces the full agentic lifecycle from enterprise data ingestion through agent reasoning to business outcomes. The platform surfaces each agent's creator, owner, permissions, permitted actions, and human-in-the-loop approval requirements, and tracks movement of PII, PCI, and PHI across agentic workflows. It also adds token- and model-consumption tracking to turn AI spending into measurable AI FinOps.

OpenAI is putting $1 billion behind Daybreak for defenders working without enterprise budgets

OpenAI committed $1 billion to subsidize Daybreak cyber model access, training, and support for water, grid, government, banking, nonprofit, and open-source defenders.

OpenAI committed $1 billion in credits to subsidize access to its Daybreak cyber models, along with training and technical support, for defenders of water and wastewater systems, the electric grid, state and local government, community banks, nonprofits, and open-source projects. The commitment is targeted for consumption over roughly six months, starting in the United States, and follows a smaller $1 million program offered after recent attacks on US water systems. A pilot with MS-ISAC pairs Daybreak access with guided training, and more than 35 partner products joined the Daybreak Defense Network. Thousands of defenders across 2,000 approved organizations already use the service, and OpenAI also published the architecture of its agent-first Defense Factory.

When AI quietly breaks things, who pays?

Reed Smith partner David Halbreich explains how AI companies can avoid D&O/E&O coverage gaps around mergers, governance warranties, and claims timing.

In an interview, insurance recovery partner David Halbreich of Reed Smith outlines insurance pitfalls for AI companies under claims-made D&O and E&O policies. He highlights 'straddle' claims after mergers that fall between tail coverage and go-forward policies, potentially leaving policyholders with no coverage. He also warns that governance artifacts submitted in insurance applications, such as bias testing records and model cards, can become warranties carriers use to deny claims, and discusses who should answer AI-use questions and how business interruption coverage applies to cloud and compute vendor outages.

Anthropic's Enterprise Frontier Safeguards lets your Claude logs stay in your cloud

Anthropic launches Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, letting regulated customers keep Claude usage logs in their own cloud storage under their own keys with automated misuse detection.

Anthropic unveiled Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, co-designed with eight members of the Analysis and Resilience Center for Systemic Risk and more than 100 customers including Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Visa, Mastercard, Comcast, KPMG, and Salesforce. Misuse-detection activity data can live in the customer's Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage under customer-managed keys, with fully automated review and no human inspection by Anthropic; automated systems watch for offensive cyber or biological capability development and signs of stolen credentials. The offering replaces the friction around Fable 5's 30-day retention policy, costs nothing extra, spans Claude Enterprise, Claude Platform, Amazon Bedrock, Google's Agent Platform, and Microsoft Foundry, with broad availability targeted for later this fall.

Free ChatGPT users get ads picked from whatever they just asked about

OpenAI will serve ads to ChatGPT Free and Go users based on conversation topics, location and device, with personalized targeting behind opt-in.

OpenAI will begin showing ads in ChatGPT for Free and Go plan users, selected from the current conversation topic plus general location and device type. Senior engineers are spending their week cleaning up AI-generated code

New Relic study finds AI-generated code doubles critical runtime issues, with senior engineers losing a third of their week to fixes.

A New Relic survey of U.S. technology leaders reports AI now writes the majority of shipped code, with senior SRE and DevOps engineers spending up to a third of their week triaging and refactoring it. A large majority of organizations had at least one AI-related production failure in the past six months, and roughly three in ten saw newly introduced security vulnerabilities. AI-generated code showed nearly twice as many critical runtime issues as peer-reviewed human-authored code, with gaps concentrated in edge cases, concurrency, deprecated APIs, and complex state changes. Most teams now prompt AI tools to embed logs and traces directly into generated code.

ChatGPT advanced account security adds passkeys and hardware keys

OpenAI launches Advanced Account Security for ChatGPT and Codex, replacing passwords with passkeys or hardware keys and disabling email/SMS recovery.

The opt-in setting disables password sign-in plus email and SMS account recovery for ChatGPT and Codex accounts, allowing only passkeys, hardware security keys, and user-held recovery keys, with shortened sessions and automatic exclusion of enrolled accounts' conversations from model training. OpenAI partnered with Yubico to offer discounted bundles of the YubiKey C Nano and C NFC, while any FIDO2/WebAuthn-compliant key or software passkey is supported, mirroring standards adopted by Google, Microsoft, and GitHub. Individual members of Trusted Access for Cyber using the most permissive models must enable the setting from June 1, 2026, or their organizations can attest to phishing-resistant authentication in their single sign-on.

Product showcase: AI Paper Trail shows the privacy cost of talking to AI

Proton launched AI Paper Trail, a free tool that analyzes ChatGPT or Claude exports and reports what personal data can be inferred from AI conversations.

Proton released AI Paper Trail, a free web tool that analyzes the 200 most recent prompts from exported ChatGPT or Claude conversation histories and generates a privacy report with an AI Exposure Score, inferred personal data categories, and an estimated advertising value. In a hands-on test it identified 47 data points, returned a 58/100 exposure score, estimated $185 in advertising value, and flagged five red flags spanning location, interests, finances, and relationships. Proton states that uploaded data is deleted after analysis and is not stored on its Lumo servers.

When companies get specific about AI, revenue growth looks different

A Carnegie Mellon and Larridin study of 564 companies links specific AI disclosures to 8 points higher revenue growth, not margins.

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and Larridin analyzed 564 companies across 12 sectors using 478 10-K filings, more than 30,000 classified job postings and an AI maturity tracker. Companies at the top of 'narrative concreteness', meaning they named deployed AI systems with measurable outcomes, were associated with 8.0 percentage points higher year-over-year revenue growth, while no public AI signal predicted operating margins or risk-adjusted stock returns. AI infrastructure suppliers outperformed matched peers by about 32 percentage points over four months. The authors stress the findings show association, not causation.
