The EU Digital Markets Act, which requires Apple to give third parties effective access to iOS features, may have shaped this approach. The entitlement is not yet open to third parties and Claude is not yet available in the macOS 27 Golden Gate RC.

Plus, Pro, Enterprise, Business and Education subscribers remain ad-free, and OpenAI states that chats, chat history, memories and personal details are not shared with advertisers.
