U.S. CISA adds Microsoft Windows, N-able N-central, and Adobe flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog

CISA added four actively exploited flaws to its KEV catalog: Magento StyleSmuggler RCE, two Windows privilege-escalation bugs, and N-able N-central RCE.

CISA added CVE-2026-75650 (Adobe Commerce/Magento, CVSS 10.0), CVE-2026-81963 and CVE-2026-85880 (Microsoft Windows local privilege escalation, CVSS 7.8 each), and CVE-2026-86218 (N-able N-central pre-auth RCE, CVSS 10.0) to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Sansec researchers report the StyleSmuggler Magento flaw, actively exploited since September 4, lets unauthenticated attackers run code on vulnerable online stores and deploy web shells and backdoors; Microsoft confirmed active exploitation of both Windows flaws, and N-able shipped an emergency hotfix. Federal civilian agencies must patch the Windows flaws by September 22, 2026, and the remaining entries by September 11, 2026 under BOD 22-01.

Microsoft breaks Patch Tuesday record with 974-CVE deluge

Microsoft's record 974-CVE Patch Tuesday ships two exploited Windows zero-days, while Adobe's StyleSmuggler zero-day (CVE-2026-75650) gives unauthenticated RCE in Magento.

Microsoft's September Patch Tuesday addresses 974 CVEs, including two zero-days already under exploitation: CVE-2026-85880, a Windows ALPC privilege escalation leading to SYSTEM via sandbox escape, and CVE-2026-81963, a Windows Update Stack privilege escalation. Adobe patched 172 CVEs, including the max-severity StyleSmuggler zero-day CVE-2026-75650 in Magento and Adobe Commerce, which Sansec reports is being exploited since September 4 to inject PHP into templates and install a C2-connected backdoor. CISA added CVE-2026-85880, CVE-2026-81963, and CVE-2026-75650 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog with patch deadlines of September 22 and September 11. The piece also notes Google-patched Chrome V8 zero-day CVE-2026-85046 lacks a Microsoft advisory for Edge, and flags nine Exchange Server flaws including remote unauthenticated RCE CVE-2026-55007.

Adobe fixes critical Magento zero-day exploited to backdoor servers

Adobe emergency-patches actively exploited max-severity Magento/Adobe Commerce zero-day CVE-2026-75650 (StyleSmuggler), used since Sept 4 to backdoor servers.

Adobe released an emergency hotfix (VULN-39341) for CVE-2026-75650, a max-severity zero-day dubbed StyleSmuggler affecting Adobe Commerce 2.4.4-2.4.9, Adobe Commerce B2B 1.3.3-1.5.3, and Magento Open Source 2.4.6-2.4.9, enabling arbitrary code execution. Sansec reports the flaw has been exploited since at least September 4 to plant a backdoor whose C2 host is disguised as an NTP server, leaving traces like 'Payment Transaction Failed Reminder' emails. A second attacker with unrelated tooling is exploiting the flaw to deploy a 485-byte PHP web shell that collects server details, checks pub/media writability, and exfiltrates data to an oast.site subdomain. Adobe recommends immediate hotpatching plus rotation of all secrets including admin passwords, API keys, database credentials, and SSH keys.

Magento StyleSmuggler zero-day exploited to deploy Linux backdoor

StyleSmuggler zero-day in Magento and Adobe Commerce is actively exploited in the wild to deploy a Rust-based Linux backdoor; fix not yet released.

A zero-day dubbed StyleSmuggler affecting all versions of Magento and Adobe Commerce is being actively exploited, with the first observed incident on September 4 on a fully patched site. The exploit injects PHP code via Magento's template system through a fake 'failed-payment' email to achieve code execution, installing a Rust-based backdoor disguised as kworker/u:8:0 or fc-cache with a 30-minute cron job for persistence. The backdoor communicates via TLS/WebSockets or UDP port 123 masquerading as NTP traffic, checks TracerPid to detect tracing, and can receive remote commands. Adobe confirmed it is working on a fix with no timeline; Sansec recommends disabling GraphQL as mitigation and monitoring for suspicious cron entries and kworker or fc-cache processes. Magento is installed on more than 160,000 websites, including 14,000 of the top 1 million sites.

Attackers Actively Exploiting Critical Vulnerability in Elementor Pro Plugin

Attackers actively exploit a critical unauthenticated file upload flaw in Elementor Pro (6M+ installs), enabling remote code execution and site takeover.

Wordfence reports that attackers are actively exploiting a critical unauthenticated arbitrary file upload vulnerability in Elementor Pro, which it disclosed on August 19, 2026. The WordPress plugin has more than 6,000,000 active installations. Unauthenticated attackers can upload arbitrary files, including executable PHP files, leading to remote code execution and complete site takeover.

Attackers Target miniOrange SAML Flaws That Can Grant WordPress Admin Access

Attackers are exploiting two unauthenticated WordPress auth bypasses (CVE-2026-61979, CVE-2026-15981, max CVSS 9.8) in miniOrange SAML SSO to gain admin sessions.

Patchstack disclosed two flaws in the Xecurify miniOrange SAML 2.0 Single Sign On WordPress plugin: CVE-2026-15981 (CVSS 9.8) accepts malformed signatures because mo_saml_validate_signature() loosely checks the tri-state result of openssl_verify(), and CVE-2026-61979 (CVSS 8.1) enables privilege escalation via signature algorithm confusion. Both let unauthenticated attackers sign in as any WordPress user, including administrators; fixes shipped in Standard edition versions 17.0.6 and 17.0.5. DigitalOcean observed an attacker using the bypass to obtain an admin session cookie, opportunistic scanning is underway from six IP addresses, and PoC chaining code is public.
