Unpatched Kaltura mwEmbed Flaws Could Let Remote Attackers Read Files and Run Code

CERT/CC disclosed unpatched Kaltura mwEmbed flaws CVE-2026-19913 and CVE-2026-19912 allowing unauthenticated file reads and remote code execution.

CERT/CC disclosed two unpatched flaws in Kaltura's mwEmbed HTML5 player library, both rooted in unsafe deserialization in mwEmbedLoader.php and exploitable without authentication. CVE-2026-19913 (reporter-scored 9.1) reflects local file contents back via the ServiceUrl parameter, exposing secrets in local.ini; CVE-2026-19912 (reporter-scored 10.0) achieves PHP code execution by writing attacker-controlled objects into web-accessible directories via the uiconf_id parameter. No patch exists and CERT/CC could not reach Kaltura; affected releases include html5lib v2.45, v2.103 and earlier, with the shared multi-tenant CDN hosts also impacted. No exploitation or KEV listing was reported as of August 25, 2026.

Unisoc VoLTE Video Call Exploit Chain Can Give Attackers Full Android Kernel Access

Unisoc modem firmware flaw CWE-1189 allows VoLTE video call RCE chain to gain full Android kernel access on T606/T612/T7250 chipsets; no patch yet.

SSD Secure Disclosure published the second stage of an exploit chain, first disclosed in March 2026, that achieves full Android kernel access on Unisoc modem firmware via a VoLTE video call. The privilege-escalation flaw, classified as CWE-1189 (Improper Isolation of Shared Resources on System-on-a-Chip), exploits shared physical memory between modem and application processor with no hardware boundary, letting modem code map the entire 32-bit address space and modify Android kernel pages via ARM Memory Protection Unit registers. Confirmed affected chipsets include Unisoc T606 (Motorola E13), T612 (Realme C33), and T7250 (Xiaomi Redmi A5), sold across more than 140 countries. No CVE has been assigned, the August 2026 Android Security Bulletin does not address it, and Unisoc has not responded to researchers; exploitation requires an attacker-controlled private 4G network and a victim answering the call.

GitLab’s critical flaw is already drawing internet-wide probes

GitLab patches two critical flaws (CVE-2026-85706 CVSS 10.0, CVE-2026-87719) as WatchTowr observes internet-wide probing of the unauthenticated file-read bug.

GitLab released emergency patches for two high-severity flaws in Community and Enterprise Editions, urging self-managed operators to upgrade immediately while saying its hosted and Dedicated offerings are fixed or unaffected. CVE-2026-85706 (CVSS 10.0) is a path traversal in the repository commits interface that lets unauthenticated attackers read any file on the server and affects releases 18.7 through 19.1.8 plus the 19.2 and 19.3 lines before patching. CVE-2026-87719 (CVSS 9.9, Enterprise Edition only) lets a logged-in Duo Chat user hide a command in a request that triggers Advanced Search settings and password disclosure. WatchTowr Labs reported it is already watching probes that can trigger the path traversal flaw in a single HTTP request, though CISA had not added either issue to the KEV list as of Friday afternoon.

SAP Patches CVSS 10.0 Kernel Flaw Enabling Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution

SAP patched CVE-2026-44756 (CVSS 10.0), an unauthenticated kernel memory corruption allowing OS command execution, plus three other critical flaws.

SAP's September security updates include CVE-2026-44756 (OVERPASS, CVSS 10.0), a missing boundary validation during deserialization of Extended Passport (EPP) data in the SAP kernel, enabling unauthenticated attackers to run arbitrary OS commands with SAP administrative privileges. Also patched: CVE-2026-58240 (S4GET, CVSS 9.8), a missing authentication check in SAP NetWeaver Message Server yielding RCE as <sid>adm; CVE-2026-76969 (9.4), credential disclosure in SAP Cloud Application Programming Model multi-tenant apps; and CVE-2026-66768 (9.0), improper access control in SAP NetWeaver SAP GUI for Java. Onapsis, which discovered the flaws, says none have been exploited to date and recommends prioritizing internet-facing SAP systems.

China-Made ZBT Routers Ship With Two Implants Giving Unauthenticated Attackers Root Access

VulnCheck discloses two factory implants, SPEAKINGSTONE and DARKLANTERN, in ZBT router firmware granting unauthenticated remote attackers root command execution.

VulnCheck found two previously undocumented implants in firmware from Shenzhen Zhibotong Electronics (ZBT), tracked as CVE-2026-74232 (SPEAKINGSTONE) and CVE-2026-74233 (DARKLANTERN), each rated 9.8 on CVSS 3.1. SPEAKINGSTONE (yunmgrd) beacons to a hardcoded C2 over UDP port 10000 and supports root command execution, PPPoE credential exfiltration, DNS hijacking, and reverse SSH tunnels; DARKLANTERN (infosrvd) listens on UDP port 9992 with weak hardcoded authentication. Scanning found 203 internet-facing DARKLANTERN instances across 22 countries, and 392 devices reported to the SPEAKINGSTONE backup C2, nearly all in China on China Mobile. No fixed firmware release is named, and ZBT's white-labeling means model number rather than brand is the reliable detection check.

WeChat Zero-Click Worm Took Over Accounts on iPhone and Android via Incoming Calls

Researchers demonstrated a zero-click WeChat worm that hijacked accounts via incoming calls; Tencent blocked the exploit server-side after July disclosure, no real attacks reported.

Security firm Calif built a worm that seized WeChat accounts via incoming calls without any target interaction, demonstrating it spreading across three test phones (Android to iPhone to Android). Once exploited, the attacker gains full control of the WeChat account, including messages, calls, payments, and mini programs, though not the phone itself. Tencent mitigated the flaw server-side, confirmed blocked on 28 August, shipping WeChat 8.0.77 for Android and 8.0.76 for iOS on 21 August. No CVE has been assigned, Tencent published no advisory, and no attacks in the wild have been reported; WeChat/Weixin counts 1.439 billion monthly active users.

FreeIPA Flaw Chain Lets Anonymous Clients Create Reusable Administrator Credentials

Critical FreeIPA flaw chain (CVE-2026-76578, CVSS 9.8) lets anonymous clients create reusable admin credentials on default installs; fixed in 4.13.4.

Red Hat warns that chaining FreeIPA's CVE-2026-76578 (CVSS 9.8) with a 389 Directory Server flaw (CVE-2026-76560, CVSS 7.5) lets an anonymous client write a Kerberos identity into the directory and land in the administrators group on default installations; Red Hat reproduced the chain twice, including on a machine with no access at all. FreeIPA 4.13.4 fixes both flaws, and fourteen 389-ds advisories shipped September 8, with RHSA-2026:64785 rated critical. A separate flaw, CVE-2026-79678 (CVSS 8.1), allows reading the server's environment variables one at a time via a Python eval() in idp-add, potentially exposing Directory Manager and administrator passwords in container installs. No real-world exploitation has been reported.

N-able Issues Fourth N-central Hotfix in Five Weeks for Unauthenticated RCE Flaw

N-able shipped Hotfix 4 for a CVSS 10.0 unauthenticated RCE (CVE-2026-86218) in N-central RMM, with conflicting statements on exploitation.

N-able released 2026.3 Hotfix 4 (build 2026.3.1.14) fixing CVE-2026-86218, a static code injection weakness (CWE-96) scored 10.0 on CVSS 4.0 that enables pre-authentication remote code execution on on-premises N-central RMM servers. Hosted NCOD instances are already patched; N-able's incident notice says the flaw was observed exploited in the wild while its release notes say exploitation is unconfirmed. Huntress, which has tracked N-central attacks since August, advises IP allowlisting, VPN-only access, or taking internet-reachable servers offline until patching. It is the fourth hotfix in five weeks, following fixes for CVE-2026-86206 and CVE-2026-86207, which CISA added to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

Critical VMware Workstation and Fusion Flaw Lets VM Admins Execute Host Code

Broadcom patched two VMware Workstation and Fusion flaws, including critical integer overflow CVE-2026-59346 (CVSS 9.3), letting guest admins execute host code; no exploitation seen.

Broadcom released updates fixing CVE-2026-59346 (CVSS 9.3), an integer-overflow vulnerability allowing a malicious actor with local administrative privileges on a VM with a VMXNET3 adapter to execute code on the host, and CVE-2026-59347 (CVSS 8.1), a stack-based buffer overflow in HGFS allowing code execution as the host's VMX process. Critical NetScaler Flaw Can Bypass Authentication on Certain Gateway and AAA Servers

Citrix patches critical NetScaler Gateway and AAA authentication bypass CVE-2026-19490 (CVSS 9.3) plus a SIP ALG memory overflow flaw; exploitation attempts observed.

Citrix fixed CVE-2026-19490 (CVSS 9.3), an authentication bypass affecting customer-managed NetScaler ADC and Gateway appliances configured as Gateway (SSL VPN, ICA Proxy, CVPN, RDP Proxy) or AAA virtual servers, and CVE-2026-19489 (CVSS 8.8), a memory overflow causing DoS when SIP ALG is enabled in Large Scale NAT groups. Updates are available in versions 14.1-73.32, 13.1-63.21, and corresponding FIPS/NDcPP builds, while Citrix-managed cloud services were already patched. The flaws were reported by Samarth Vashisht of JPMorgan Chase's penetration-testing team, and Previdian later observed 10 exploitation attempts against CVE-2026-19490 from six unique IP addresses in Australia, Germany, Japan, and the US, with no confirmed compromise.

PostgreSQL Fixes 12-Year-Old Logical Decoding Flaw Enabling Replication-Role Code Execution

PostgreSQL fixed CVE-2026-6471 (CVSS 7.2), a 12-year-old logical decoding flaw letting replication-role accounts execute arbitrary code as the database OS user.

PostgreSQL patched CVE-2026-6471 (CVSS 7.2), a flaw present since logical decoding shipped in 9.4 (2014) that lets an account with the REPLICATION attribute run arbitrary code as the database server's OS user when wal_level is logical. Versions before 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 are affected; exploitation requires such an account, which backup, CDC, and monitoring tooling routinely holds. The fix adds an output_plugin_libraries whitelist, so administrators using non-default plugins such as wal2json and decoderbufs must add them and reload configuration after updating. Cyera Research, whose write-up names the flaw PostGREShell, demonstrated escalating a replication user to superuser with persistence; no PoC or KEV entry existed as of September 4.

Malicious .git Configs Can Make Claude, Codex, Cursor, and Other AI Agents Run Attacker Code

Malicious .git core.fsmonitor configs let attacker code run in AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex; four of eight flaws remain unpatched.

Manifold Security disclosed eight flaws across seven command-line AI coding agents where a repository's Git core.fsmonitor configuration causes agent-spawned commands to execute attacker code outside the sandbox and without approval prompts. Fixes shipped for goose (CVE-2026-72718, CVSS 4.0 score 7.0), Claude Code on one path, and Cursor, while Hermes Agent, Qwen Code, Grok Build, and a second Claude Code path were still unpatched as of September 1. OpenAI issued three CVEs for the same class in Codex, including CVE-2026-19592, and prior related bugs include CVE-2021-43891 in Visual Studio Code and CVE-2022-24346 in JetBrains IDEs. Exploitation requires the repository to arrive with its .git directory intact, such as via archives, shared drives, or USB sticks rather than an ordinary clone.

Five Critical WordPress Plugin and Theme Flaws Enable Site Takeover or RCE

Wordfence and Patchstack disclosed five critical flaws in WordPress plugins and themes: WPMU DEV Dashboard, Avada, TranslatePress, Pods, and GiveWP. The issues include unauthenticated authentication bypass (CVE-2026-76581), arbitrary file write leading to RCE (CVE-2026-18431), administrator account takeover via password-reset URL exposure (CVE-2026-19632), privilege escalation (CVE-2026-19598), and PHP object injection to RCE (CVE-2026-82222, CVSS 10.0). Patchstack says the GiveWP flaw chains an unsafe unserialize helper, attacker-controlled donation data, and a gadget chain in shipped code.

Three CVSS 10.0 ServiceNow Flaws Could Let Unauthenticated Attackers Execute Code and SQL

ServiceNow patched four AI Platform flaws, including three pre-authentication CVSS 10.0 issues enabling unauthenticated code execution, SQL injection, and privilege escalation.

All issues were found through internal testing and are not known to be actively exploited. The patches follow a broader internal security review that recently addressed 12 Catalyst SD-WAN and IOS XE bugs.

Elementor Pro Flaw Could Let Unauthenticated Attackers Upload PHP and Execute Code

Patchstack disclosed CVE-2026-32475 (CVSS 9.0), an unauthenticated file-upload flaw in Elementor Pro enabling PHP upload and RCE; fixed in version 4.2.2.

Patchstack researcher Tin Pham reported an unrestricted file upload flaw in Elementor Pro's Forms module (CVE-2026-32475, CVSS 9.0), affecting all versions up to and including 4.2.1. Submitting two file parts for one field bypasses the extension blocklist and writes attacker-controlled PHP into a public uploads directory, yielding unauthenticated remote code execution when a published Elementor page uses a Form widget with a File Upload field. A patched version 4.2.2 shipped August 19, 2026, a day after WordPress 7.0.4 fixed CVE-2026-65640 (CVSS 8.8), an RCE via Postscript file upload when Imagick and Ghostscript are in use.

Forminator WordPress Flaw Can Enable Unauthenticated RCE via Malicious PHP Uploads

Wordfence disclosed CVE-2026-15748, a critical unauthenticated file upload flaw enabling RCE in the Forminator Forms WordPress plugin, patched in version 1.56.2.

Wordfence reported CVE-2026-15748 (CVSS 9.8) in Forminator Forms, a WordPress plugin with over 600,000 active installations, allowing unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary PHP files and achieve remote code execution. The flaw stems from insufficient file type validation in the handle_file_upload() function, and exploitation requires a form containing both a File Upload field and a Select field, plus a custom upload storage root lacking .htaccess PHP protection. All versions up to and including 1.56.1 are affected; version 1.56.2 released July 31, 2026 fixes the issue. Wordfence also disclosed CVE-2026-15826 (CVSS 9.8), an authentication bypass in User Profile Builder (40,000+ installs) letting unauthenticated attackers log in as administrator, fixed in version 3.16.5 on July 16, 2026.

Adobe Patches Three CVSS 10.0 ColdFusion and Campaign Classic Flaws

Adobe patches seven flaws in ColdFusion, Commerce, and Campaign Classic, including actively exploited CVE-2026-71362 enabling customer account takeover.

Researchers at A Security found three flaws in Zoom's annotation feature: CVE-2026-53413 (CVSS 8.3, buffer over-write), CVE-2026-53414 (CVSS 6.5, buffer over-read), and CVE-2026-53415 (CVSS 8.3, use-after-free). A crafted drawing object sent over the wrong message channel can overwrite adjacent memory and hijack another attendee's client with no user interaction. Fixes shipped in Zoom Workplace 7.1.5/7.0.6, VDI Client 7.0.11/6.6.16, and Zoom Rooms/Meeting SDK 7.1.0+ during June and July. No exploitation has been reported and the flaws are absent from CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

Researchers Disclose AI-Assisted SharePoint Exploit Chain Reaching Unauthenticated RCE

Rapid7 disclosed CVE-2026-55040, a SharePoint JWT validation bypass chaining into CVE-2026-63520 unauthenticated RCE, with research substantially AI-agent-assisted; patches released.

Rapid7 disclosed CVE-2026-55040 (CVSS 9.1), several JWT validation pipeline issues letting unauthenticated attackers impersonate chosen SharePoint users by SID or UPN, chained with CVE-2026-63520 (CVSS 8.1), an unsafe .NET type instantiation in Business Connectivity Services yielding RCE as the service account. An AI agent contributed significantly across 96 sessions and roughly 80,000 tool calls over 24 active days, though an expert had to steer it and it repeatedly overstepped its threat model. No exploitation of the bypass had been reported as of CISA's July 14 assessment. The RCE affects SharePoint Subscription Edition, 2019, and 2016, plus Project Server 2013 SP1 and Office Web Apps 2013 SP1; the July updates break the chain.

Three Critical VMware Flaws Allow Auth Bypass, Code Execution, and VM Escape

Broadcom patches three critical VMware flaws, including vCenter auth bypass CVE-2026-59309 and an ESX VM escape, urging immediate updates.

Broadcom issued emergency updates for VMware ESX, vCenter, Workstation and Fusion, fixing five flaws including CVE-2026-59309 (CVSS 9.8 authentication bypass in vCenter) and CVE-2026-59310 (CVSS 9.8 directory traversal allowing code execution). CVE-2026-47876 (CVSS 9.3) is an out-of-bounds write in the ESX VMXNET3 adapter that permits a virtual machine escape to the host. Broadcom found no evidence of exploitation, but Defused Cyber reported a spike in vCenter scanning on August 11, 2026 consistent with exploitation attempts against CVE-2026-59309 (VMSA-2026-0006). No workarounds are available.

New Passkey Attacks Can Recover Synced Private Keys or Bypass Phishing

Three research teams showed passkey bypasses: WebAuthn assertion replay in Microsoft Entra ID, synced-passkey key recovery in Google Password Manager, and Windows Hello key reuse.

SpecterOps' Pass-the-Passkey research showed Windows stored past YubiKey signatures in cleartext and chained this with Microsoft Entra ID passkey validation weaknesses to impersonate privileged users despite phishing-resistant MFA; the Windows Event Logging Service issue is tracked as CVE-2026-34348 (CVSS 6.5) and fixed in July 2026 updates. Unit 42's Golden Pass-ta-key attack recovered the 32-byte Security Domain Secret protecting Google Password Manager synced passkeys from Chrome on Windows via pre-existing malware. Dirk-jan Mollema showed in-session malware can use a hardware-bound Windows Hello for Business key without a fresh PIN or biometric check. Microsoft applied Entra-side mitigations for the relay assertion issue; no real-world exploitation has been reported.
