Unit 42 discovered five vulnerabilities (CVE-2024-1182, CVE-2024-7587, CVE-2024-8299, CVE-2024-8300, CVE-2024-9852) in ICONICS Suite versions 10.97.2 and earlier for Windows during a 2024 security assessment. The flaws, rated CVSS 7.0-7.8, allow DLL hijacking, privilege escalation, information disclosure, denial-of-service and potentially full system compromise. ICONICS Suite is a SCADA solution with hundreds of thousands of installations in over 100 countries, widely used in critical infrastructure, and several dozen servers are internet-exposed per Unit 42 telemetry. CVE-2026-73807 (CVSS 9.8) lets unauthenticated network attackers access privileged management functions via the command API, while CVE-2026-82567 exposes an unauthenticated HTTP endpoint that sends arbitrary SMS messages through a connected GSM modem. Deployments span critical manufacturing, energy, food and agriculture, transportation, and water and wastewater sectors. CISA states no known public exploitation has been reported at this time.

Outsider Phishing Kit Survives Takedown With 700 New Pages

Group-IB found the Outsider phishing kit kept generating 700+ new phishing pages within a month of Operation Ghost Hook's takedown.

Group-IB linked the Outsider Phishing Kit, operated by a threat actor known as ChenLun, to more than 100,000 phishing pages across 54+ countries between December 2025 and May 2026. After the FBI, Google, and Lumen's Black Lotus Labs seized core admin servers, a Shopify storefront, about $100,000, and thousands of domains under Operation Ghost Hook in June, over 700 new phishing domains appeared within a month. The kit offered 267 templates, adversary-in-the-middle MFA interception, WebSocket-based live operator communication, and SMS delivery via a Telegram affiliate ecosystem with more than 5,000 subscribers.

The AFP arrested alleged TeamPCP leader Ruben Thomson, 21, and Louis Gaebler, 23, near Perth; both were charged and remain in custody. The group inserted a self-spreading credential-stealing worm into open-source projects including Trivy, KICS, LiteLLM, and Telnyx, harvesting more than 500,000 credentials used for network access, ransomware, extortion, and sales. About 78,000 tokens and secrets from nearly 2,200 organizations leaked online last month, and the FBI supported the investigation that began in April.

The malware requests device administrator, SMS, contacts, storage and Accessibility permissions, resolves its C2 domain dynamically from a GitHub repository, and encrypts files with AES using per-device keys derived from the Android ID on Android 9 and earlier. It steals WhatsApp messages, Telegram credentials, OTPs and other data, and uses MediaProjection for screenshots and screen recording staged on Catbox; a second variant adds WebSocket C2 with persistent screen locking and app blocking.

The exposed data includes about 8.8 million email addresses and phone numbers, 108,077 vehicle registration plates, 2.48 million purchases and 1.16 billion email events, with no payment-card data accessed. FulcrumSec claims it gained access using Iterable admin keys hardcoded in the frontend JavaScript of all three airport websites, a claim MAG has not confirmed. Have I Been Pwned added the incident to its breach database.

13 Malicious Packagist Packages Target Unpatched iPhones to Steal Crypto Wallet Seeds

Trojanized Packagist themes inject JavaScript into Vietnamese streaming sites, exploiting unpatched iPhone WebKit and kernel flaws to install spyware and steal crypto wallet seeds.

Socket researchers found 13 malicious Composer theme packages across five vendor namespaces (including vsmov, vsphim, and ophimcms) that inject JavaScript into Vietnamese movie and comic streaming sites. On iPhones running iOS 18.4-18.6.x, the injected code fires a WebKit-to-kernel exploit chain using CVE-2025-31277 and CVE-2025-43529, pivoting through the GPU process and the AppleM2ScalerCSCDriver IOKit user client to gain kernel read/write. Since around August 12, 2026 the payload also steals cryptocurrency wallet seeds and mnemonics from Bitget, BitKeep, Bitpie, Phantom, Tonkeeper, Trust Wallet, and OKX, alongside keychain databases, Wi-Fi passwords, SMS, photos, cookies, and location history, uploaded via HTTPS to rotating C2 domains. The group is believed to be Vietnamese-operated, hosts exploits on Funnull infrastructure, and Apple patched the kernel escape flaw in iOS and macOS 26.1.

New Android malware encrypts files, steals data, and harasses victims

The operation was still active, used custom JavaScript to disable FIDO2/WebAuthn on phishing pages, and routed logins through a residential proxy pool spanning 69 countries.
