Semigroup-JEPA: Latent Dynamics Consistency for Zero-Shot Physics Generalization

SG-JEPA world model conditions latent prediction on physical parameters, halving open-loop prediction error versus DINO-WM and boosting robotic control success.

SG-JEPA extends the LeWorldModel JEPA framework by supplying the governing physics parameter to the temporal model via action-conditioning and jointly training an encoder and predictor through autoregressive latent rollout. On out-of-distribution gravitational-field tasks it reduces open-loop prediction error by up to 2x versus DINO-WM on 2D datasets and increases 3D robotic control success rate up to 2.5x using independently trained diffusion policies. A linear feature analysis attributes most of the gain to the encoder learning features that the predictor can carry forward through rollout.

Former OpenAI researcher builds an AI model that judges options instead of writing text

TypeSafe AI launches Jev, a judgment-only model built by ex-OpenAI staff that classifies inputs with 70-500 ms latency instead of generating text.

Startup TypeSafe AI, co-founded by former OpenAI researcher and InstructGPT co-author Diogo Almeida, introduced Jev, a model that scores developer-defined answer options with probabilities rather than generating free-form text. The company claims 70-500 ms responses, parallel multi-question evaluation, and $0.042 per million input tokens with free outputs, targeting request routing, sales intent scoring, and assistant guardrail checks. Benchmarks are self-built and not independently verified, the 'no hallucination' guarantee only covers output structure, and access is currently via waitlist.

[AINews] OpenAI shuts off Cursor

OpenAI cut off API access to coding tool Cursor after its SpaceX acquisition, citing contract violations by Elon Musk's companies.

OpenAI disabled Cursor's access following the closing of Cursor's acquisition by SpaceX, citing its experience with Elon Musk's companies violating contracts; Cursor responded that OpenAI accounts for only 5% of its traffic. VidaForge: Open Research Infrastructure for Video Pretraining Data Recipes

VidaForge releases open infrastructure and VIDAFORGE-3M (3.14M clips, 6,475 hours) linking video pretraining data recipes to downstream model performance.

VidaForge is an open research infrastructure that represents a video pretraining data recipe as an executable five-stage workflow from raw videos to training datasets. The team compares data recipes with different coverage and quality during early from-scratch pretraining of Wan 2.1 and V-JEPA 2.1, finding that broader-coverage recipes achieve the highest downstream benchmark scores while loss-based evaluation favors different recipes. They also release VIDAFORGE-3M, containing 3.14 million scene-level clips totaling 6,475 hours with fine-grained annotations and curation signals for video data-recipe research.

27.5KB language-agnostic WebGPU syntax highlighter

A developer released gpu-lexer, a 27.5KB language-agnostic syntax highlighter that uses a tiny WebGPU model to label code tokens in the browser.

gpu-lexer splits source into words, whitespace, and symbols, then a small WebGPU model uses local and whole-file context to assign nine token classes, working on languages never seen in training. On held-out files, 12.57% of token labels differ from Shiki, though this measures agreement with Shiki rather than objective correctness. In benchmarks against Shiki 4.4.3, Prism.js, Highlight.js, Sugar High, and Starry Night, it highlighted 10 concatenated copies of three.min.js (5.56M characters) about 10x faster on an Apple M4 Pro in Chrome 152. The author frames it as an experiment, not a grammar-equivalent highlighter.

Multi-Step Tool-Calling over Korean Open Public APIs: A Benchmark and a Data-Synthesis Recipe

Researchers introduce KOPA-Bench, a 145-task Korean public API tool-calling benchmark, and EDGE, an execution-grounded data synthesis method.

An arXiv paper presents KOPA-Bench, a benchmark of 145 real-world tasks chaining multiple tool-calls across live Korean government APIs, motivated by data-sovereignty requirements for on-premise open-source LLM agents. It also introduces EDGE, an execution-grounded dynamic graph that keeps only tool-output-to-input links verified by live API calls before synthesizing executable multi-step trajectories. A 9B model fine-tuned with GRPO on the resulting dataset nearly matches its untuned 27B family sibling on KOPA-Bench and improves on the BFCL benchmark.

ClearFake WebDAV infection chain delivers Amatera stealer, ZigCryptoStealer, and NetSupport Manager

Cisco Talos details ClearFake WebDAV chains delivering Amatera stealer to a Ukrainian government organization, with cryptocurrency and credential theft payloads.

Cisco Talos investigated DLL executions named 'verification.google' via WebDAV UNC paths at a Ukrainian government organization, tracking the actor as UAT-10820 and assessing with moderate confidence the activity is Russian and opportunistic rather than targeted. The infection chain uses ClearFake JavaScript injected via a Cloudflare Worker, EtherHiding storage on BNB Smart Chain contracts, and a ClickFix fake Google CAPTCHA prompt to deliver Amatera stealer. Secondary payloads differ by C2: one loader deploys ZigCryptoStealer with a Go reverse TCP proxy and a vulnerable driver that kills EDR, while the other installs an unauthorized NetSupport Manager with a Russia-based C2. Similar Amatera chains were separately documented by Malwarebytes and Blackpoint Cyber, but with no shared infrastructure.
