A 2026 buyer's guide compares 12 endpoint privilege management tools, ranking CyberArk and BeyondTrust as enterprise leaders.

An editorial comparison evaluates 12 endpoint privilege management (EPM) tools on elevation control, manageability, and pricing model. The guide argues that standing local-admin rights fuel ransomware and lateral movement, making their removal a high-impact control that cyber insurers increasingly mandate. CyberArk and BeyondTrust are positioned as enterprise-depth leaders, with Delinea, Heimdal, and ManageEngine for the mid-market, and Admin By Request and CyberFOX AutoElevate for SMBs and MSPs. Adobe Commerce max-severity bug comes under active attack

Attackers are actively exploiting CVE-2026-75650 (CVSS 10.0), an unauthenticated RCE zero-day in Adobe Commerce/Magento, deploying a Rust backdoor on e-commerce servers.

Sansec identified active exploitation of a CVSS 10.0 zero-day (CVE-2026-75650) in Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source versions 2.4.4 through 2.4.9, dubbed StyleSmuggler. The attack abuses crafted style properties in Magento template processing to execute PHP while rendering a 'Payment Transaction Failed Reminder' email, then launches a Rust backdoor connecting to C2 at 99.84.67.186 disguised as NTP traffic. Exploitation began September 4, 2026; Adobe released emergency hotfix VULN-393411, but Sansec also observed a second attacker deploying a PHP web shell in the product-image cache.

Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries says DDoS attack delayed payments to sellers

Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries says a DDoS attack and subsequent security measures delayed seller payments, leaving roughly $240 million unpaid.

Wildberries, one of Russia's largest online marketplaces, said a distributed denial-of-service attack on systems used to track and withdraw seller earnings delayed payments, with funds to be transferred after technical procedures complete. The Russian Union of Marketplace Sellers reported about 20 billion rubles ($240 million) unpaid, and 95.6% of nearly 2,000 surveyed sellers had not received expected payments. Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) previously claimed an operation with the hacker group Cyber Corps disrupted Wildberries' payment and customer service systems, though the company has not confirmed whether the DDoS attacks were connected.

The EU CRA's Real Question: What Shipped, and When Did You Know?

ActiveState argues the EU CRA's 24-hour ENISA exploit-notification duty, effective September 11, 2026, makes current SBOMs and provenance visibility a legal necessity.

An ActiveState essay warns that the EU Cyber Resilience Act's reporting obligations take effect on September 11, 2026, requiring manufacturers of products with digital elements sold into the EU to notify ENISA within 24 hours of learning a vulnerability is actively exploited, with a fuller report within 72 hours. The law's engineering requirements only apply from December 11, 2027, leaving a visibility-first runway, and Article 13 requires the SBOM to stay current unlike one-time artifacts generated under US Executive Order 14028. The author contrasts the 24-hour notification clock with an industry-average 55 days to remediate high or critical vulnerabilities and recommends automated SBOM regeneration or consuming pre-vetted, attested open source components.

Ukraine says cyberattack hit Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries amid drone strikes

Ukraine's HUR intelligence, with the Cyber Corps group, cyberattacked Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries, disrupting payments and customer service to amplify drone strikes.

Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) claimed a cyberattack, carried out with the Cyber Corps hacker group, disrupted Russia's largest online marketplace, Wildberries, affecting customer service, contact centers, and payment infrastructure. The operation was designed to amplify kinetic drone strikes; Ukraine says seven of the company's 10 largest logistics centers have been knocked out of operation and more than 1.2 million square meters of warehouse space lost. The claims could not be independently verified and Wildberries has not commented. HUR cited the company's role in Russia's logistics network and in financing the war.

Distill Globally, Adapt Locally: Reasoning Distillation and Product-Type Test-Time Training for Scalable Trade-Up Recommendation

A distillation framework compresses LLM reasoning into a 15.5M-parameter trade-up recommendation model reaching AUC 0.941 with product-type test-time training.

The paper targets trade-up recommendation, which identifies higher-quality alternatives that preserve customer purchase intent. A retrieval-augmented few-shot LLM teacher generates labels and rationales that supervise a compact embedding-pair classifier; at inference the 15.5M-parameter student uses only two precomputed 768-dimensional embeddings with no LLM calls. On 8,352 annotated pairs, label-only training scored AUC 0.912, reasoning distillation reached 0.924, and product-type test-time training lifted it to 0.941 with average precision 0.940. The distilled student is roughly 5,000x faster and 10,000x cheaper than direct LLM inference on a 100K-pair proxy catalog.

Hackers Abuse Google Sheets as C2 in ClickFix Attacks to Steal Cryptocurrency

Cisco Talos tracks a ClickFix crypto-theft campaign using Google Sheets as C2 to swap deposit addresses in Chrome.

Cisco Talos uncovered a cryptocurrency theft campaign that abuses Google Sheets and the Google Visualization API as a covert C2 channel, delivering obfuscated JavaScript into victims' Chrome browser sessions via ClickFix-style social engineering. Victims are lured with a fake "API Logic Flaw" report promising 25-38% bonuses on SimpleSwap and SwapZone swaps; the injected payload acts as a browser-based web skimmer that replaces deposit addresses, overrides the fetch API, and hijacks the clipboard. Later variants use the legitimate Tampermonkey extension with a user script for persistence without OS-level compromise. Stripe blocked the unauthorized access before the entire donor email database could be downloaded and found no evidence of fraudulent transactions. Attribution remains unclear, with organizers unable to rule out Russian security services; both groups are designated 'undesirable' organizations in Russia, making donor identities sensitive, and a separate alleged leak of data from 669 Stripe merchants by a hacker named 'Satanic' has no confirmed connection.

Analysis of Anthropic's Sol→Astra and Opus→Fable generations showed newer models consulting fewer sources and being less likely to change answers when questions are paraphrased.
