CISA Urges Service Providers to Provide Transparent Updates During Major IT and OT Outages

CISA and FBI issued guidance urging service providers to deliver timely, transparent communications during major IT and OT outages.

CISA, with the FBI and international partners, released 'Communicating Under Pressure: Best Practices for Service Providers', urging providers to prepare crisis-communication procedures, provide timely status updates during IT/OT outages, and maintain out-of-band communication channels. The guidance warns that disruptions to telecom, cloud, energy, and water services can cascade across critical infrastructure. It aligns with CISA's CI Fortify initiative supporting IT/OT isolation and recovery.

Large Language Models for HVAC Operations in Building Energy Systems: A Critical Review of Methods, Applications, and Deployment Readiness

Systematic review of 66 studies finds LLMs for HVAC operations are mostly research-stage, with no ready-now deployment and only four pilot-level studies.

A critical review of 66 peer-reviewed studies from 2023 to March 2026 examines LLMs for HVAC operations in building energy systems. Only four studies reach pilot-level evidence, none reports sustained operational deployment, and 63 of 66 are research-only. Conventional ML, MPC, and RL remain dominant for high-frequency control and short-horizon forecasting, and the evidence supports LLMs primarily as semantic and workflow layers rather than autonomous controllers.

τ^τ-Bench: An Environment for End-To-End, Realistic Agent Construction

New τ^τ-bench tasks coding agents with building deployable customer-service agents; best config, Claude Opus 5, passes only 23.9% of simulations.

Researchers introduce τ^τ-bench, an end-to-end benchmark where a developer agent must build a complete customer-service agent from real business records, a client with requirements, a production API, an inherited codebase, and cost/model limits, then is scored by deploying it against held-out simulated users. Across 53 tasks in four domains, the strongest configuration, Claude Opus 5 under Claude Code, passes just 23.9% of evaluation simulations versus an 82.2% expert-authored reference ceiling. Failure modes mirror those of human developers: shallow queries instead of deep record comprehension, almost no client communication, and shipping the first architecture that runs rather than experimenting.

Cyberattack on logistics giant Ceva hits retailers and Steam customers across Europe

Cyberattack on Ceva Logistics disrupted eight European warehouses, delaying shipments for Bol, De Bijenkorf, Ajax and exposing Steam hardware buyers' data.

A cyberattack on Ceva Logistics disrupted operations at eight European warehouses, delaying shipments for Bol, De Bijenkorf, Ace & Tate, Ajax and Steam hardware customers. Attackers accessed two Ceva systems processing Bol orders, potentially exposing names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and order details. Valve began notifying European Steam customers whose hardware shipping data may have been compromised and is contacting data protection authorities. Ceva, with about 110,000 employees and over 1,700 facilities, has not disclosed the attackers or whether ransomware was involved.

Brand Impersonation Takedown: From Whack-a-Mole to Managed Response

Mandiant-tracked group UNC3753 impersonated US professional services firms' brands in 2026; Cyble urges managed takedowns over manual abuse reports.

Cyble describes how Google Mandiant-tracked group UNC3753 targeted US professional services firms between January and May 2026 using brand impersonation, spoofed domains, and fake executive profiles. Manual takedowns fail because phishing pages damage brands within hours while removal takes days. A managed takedown program with continuous monitoring and pre-authorized removal cuts the exposure window from days to hours.

Operational Resilience: IT Security Risks with Reduced Staffing | Huntress

Huntress blog advises security teams on managing change, risk, and incident response during reduced-staffing holiday periods.

The article discusses how holiday-period staffing reductions change organizational risk profiles around change management, monitoring, and incident response capability. It argues against blanket change freezes when critical vulnerabilities with high exploitation probability demand patching, and stresses retaining decision-making authority, escalation paths, and recovery knowledge. It concludes by promoting Huntress Managed Response, which lets the Huntress SOC take predefined containment actions on confirmed threats without customer intervention.

FCC proposes public scorecard to rate telecoms on anti-robocall efforts

The FCC proposed a public scorecard rating telecoms' anti-robocall effectiveness and removed 14 providers from US networks for compliance failures.

The Federal Communications Commission issued a public notice proposing a scorecard that would assess how effectively retail voice providers, including wireless, wireline and VoIP, prevent illegal robocalls, drawing on Robocall Mitigation Database filings, consumer complaint and enforcement data. The agency stressed it is not a rulemaking imposing new requirements, and it is seeking comment on scope, such as whether to focus on larger providers. The same day, the FCC removed 14 providers from the Robocall Mitigation Database for non-compliance, effectively requiring other US providers to block their traffic within two days.

Third-Party Script Security: How Tags, Pixels, and Embeds Can Put Websites at Risk

Sucuri details how third-party tags, pixels, and embeds expand website attack surface, letting compromised vendors read data and alter pages.

The article explains that third-party scripts used for analytics, ads, chat, payments, and video can read page content, collect visitor data, and change what users see. A compromise of the vendor, account, or integration configuration can affect every page loading the script. It recommends inventorying scripts, understanding their purpose and ownership, and detecting unexpected changes rather than removing useful integrations.

Shadow AI in Financial Services | Risk & Governance

Huntress warns financial services firms that unsanctioned 'Shadow AI' tool use creates data leakage and compliance risks faster than governance controls can keep pace.

Huntress argues Shadow AI — employee use of unapproved AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot — is spreading across financial services faster than visibility and controls. Uploading regulated customer data into public generative models risks breaches of client confidentiality, data protection rules, and market conduct obligations. The piece recommends secure web gateways, DNS filtering, DLP, application allowlisting, and corporate SSO/MFA for approved tools rather than outright bans, which can push usage onto personal devices.
