YouTube sticks new labels on AI-generated songs
YouTube Music is labeling songs primarily created or altered with generative AI tools.
YouTube is adding a “Made with AI” label to tracks that were altered or fully generated with generative AI, starting in the YouTube Music app and later expanding to the main YouTube app. The label is meant for significant uses such as generating composition and vocals, not every minor tool. Music partners are asked to disclose generative AI use, and YouTube says it may rely on other signals if they do not. Spotify and Apple Music are also labeling AI music, while Deezer offers a filter and Bandcamp has banned AI music.
