YouTube Music launches new labels as AI-generated music floods streaming platforms
YouTube Music adds disclosure labels identifying fully or partly AI-generated songs across its player.
YouTube Music is rolling out disclosure labels so listeners can see when generative AI was used in composition or vocals. Partners can declare Fully Gen AI, Partly Gen AI, or No Gen AI; pitch-correction tools such as Auto-Tune are treated as No Gen AI. YouTube is using partner disclosures and its own detection, and the labels will also appear in the main YouTube app. Unlike Deezer and TIDAL, YouTube is not excluding AI tracks from recommendations or royalties solely because AI was used.
