WordPress wp2shell Vulnerabilities Exploited in the Wild (CVE-2026 ...

Public exploit code emerged for the WordPress wp2shell pre-auth RCE chain (CVE-2026-63030, CVE-2026-60137); CISA set a July 24 patching deadline.

CVE-2026-63030 (REST API batch-route confusion) chained with CVE-2026-60137 (SQL injection in WP_Query's author__not_in) enables pre-authentication RCE in WordPress core, affecting versions 6.8.0-7.0.1. Multiple researchers published working PoCs on GitHub that extract password hashes, crack admin credentials, and upload malicious plugins. CISA added both CVEs to its KEV catalog with a July 24, 2026 deadline, and WordPress.org enabled forced auto-updates; fixes shipped in 6.8.6, 6.9.5, and 7.0.2.

IXON VPN Client

CISA warns CVE-2026-75925 (CVSS 9.6) in IXON VPN Client <1.4.7 lets attackers inject config directives for root/SYSTEM remote code execution.

IXON's CRLF injection flaw (CVE-2026-75925, CWE-93) in VPN Client before 1.4.7 lets the unauthenticated local configuration service inject additional directives into a file consumed by a privileged subprocess. Injected configuration persists across client and OS restarts, enabling code execution as root or SYSTEM while the VPN connection keeps functioning normally. Deployments span energy, manufacturing, water, and IT sectors; no public exploitation has been reported to CISA.

The warning signals active exploitation of a long-known flaw and makes patching a priority for organizations running affected SQL Server deployments.

Attackers Exploit Critical Switchvox Flaw to Deploy Reverse Shells Without Credentials

Attackers exploit unauthenticated SQL injection CVE-2026-9586 in Sangoma Switchvox to run PostgreSQL commands and deploy reverse shells.

Threat actors are exploiting CVE-2026-9586 (CVSS 9.3), an unauthenticated SQL injection in Sangoma Switchvox SMB Edition 8.3 (104997), since August 30, 2026, running arbitrary SQL as the PostgreSQL superuser and achieving remote code execution. The /pa endpoint concatenates the user-controlled PhoneIP value into PostgreSQL queries; attackers can extract database contents, escalate to Switchvox web administrator, exfiltrate the cookie signing key to forge authentication, and invoke reverse shells. Sangoma patched the flaw in Switchvox 8.4.0.2 on July 14, 2026, roughly 4,000 instances are internet-exposed (mostly in the US), and honeypot activity from IP 176.65.148.184 deploys reverse shells followed by Base64-encoded process enumeration.

FCEB agencies must patch CVE-2019-1068 and CVE-2026-8452 by August 29, 2026, and the rest by September 9, 2026.

VU#874418: RDK-B WebUI contains multiple vulnerabilities

CERT/CC warns RDK-B WebUI rdkb-2025q4-kirkstone contains multiple flaws enabling network attackers to bypass authentication, cause DoS, or potentially execute code.

VU#874418 describes multiple vulnerabilities in the RDK-B WebUI version rdkb-2025q4-kirkstone, the open-source Reference Design Kit for Broadband used in broadband gateways and networking devices. Issues include memory corruption, improper authentication, race conditions, and insufficient input validation. A network-adjacent attacker could bypass authentication, obtain administrative access, cause denial-of-service, or corrupt underlying processes, with potential arbitrary code execution under certain conditions.

Google’s $10,000 refund test shows why AI agents need zero trust

Google released an open-source zero-trust reference architecture for AI agents defending against prompt injection via signed database writes, gVisor sandboxing, and deterministic gating.

Google's demonstration, built on the Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Gemini, shows a customer support agent that could be manipulated into issuing a $10,000 refund on a $149 order and exposing environment variables via AI-generated Python. The architecture adds three security layers outside the model: cryptographic signatures on database writes verified via Cloud KMS backed by Cloud HSM, gVisor sandboxing of generated code with network egress disabled, and a Semantic Gateway applying deterministic checks to prompts and tool calls. It treats system prompts as insufficient boundaries because prompt injection, prompt tuning, or model updates can change agent behavior.
