| CVE-2019-0708 | Unauthenticated RCE in Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (BlueKeep) CVE-2019-0708 is a use-after-free (CWE-416) vulnerability in Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, formerly Terminal Services, in which an unauthenticated attacker can connect to a target system over RDP and send specially crafted requests to trigger the flaw. Because the trigger requires no authentication, the flaw is wormable: a successful exploit grants remote code execution on the target host, potentially with elevated privileges, and could allow self-propagating attacks similar to WannaCry. Organizations running the affected Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, particularly legacy Windows releases still accepting inbound RDP connections, are in scope. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: the flaw (nicknamed BlueKeep) is listed in CISA's KEV catalog (added 2021-11-03), CISA notes known ransomware use, and EPSS assigns it a 100% probability of exploitation within 30 days. Do: Apply Microsoft's security updates for CVE-2019-0708 per vendor instructions, prioritizing legacy or end-of-support Windows systems exposed to inbound RDP. As mitigation, restrict RDP (TCP 3389) to trusted networks or VPN access, require Network Level Authentication (NLA), and audit perimeter firewalls and public scans for open RDP listeners. The vulnerability is in the CISA KEV catalog, so patching is treated as a required action for federal and high-risk environments. | 9.8 | 100% | KEV ransomware |
In September 2026, Insikt Group® identified 94 high-impact vulnerabilities to prioritize for remediation, 59 of which had a Very Critical Recorded Future Risk Score. This represents a 29% increase from last month. 43 of these vulnerabilities were surfaced through the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, 37 were reported in open sources and validated by Insikt Group, and 14 were exclusively surfaced through honeypot data.
The 94 vulnerabilities identified affected products from 58 vendors, with Linux and Microsoft together accounting for approximately 13% of the vulnerabilities. The remaining exposures spanned network edge and security management appliances; operating systems (OS) and mobile devices; collaboration, content management, and enterprise platforms; artificial intelligence (AI), developer, and automation tools; and operational technology and industrial systems.
September reporting also highlighted zero-day exploitation of CVE-2026-88771 and CVE-2026-88772 (NetScaler), as well as renewed exploitation of CVE-2026-35273 (PeopleSoft) against unpatched systems.
All 80 vulnerabilities below were actively exploited or operationally weaponized in September 2026. This table does not include the 14 CVEs that were exclusively surfaced through honeypot data, which are available to Recorded Future Intelligence Platform customers via the CVE Monthly report. The table below also provides examples of public PoCs identified by Insikt Group. These PoCs were not tested for accuracy or efficacy. Vulnerability management teams should exercise caution and verify the validity of PoCs before testing.

Table 1: List of vulnerabilities that were actively exploited in September 2026 based on Recorded Future data (excluding honeypot-sourced CVEs).
Insikt Group detailed a suspected Chinese-speaking actor using a SecFlow-based operations environment with Claude-, Qwen-, and DeepSeek-backed workers to support reconnaissance, exploitation, post-exploitation, and collection across Asian targets. The threat actor tested or staged workflows for CVE-2014-6271, CVE-2020-1938, CVE-2022-22965, CVE-2016-4437, CVE-2021-43798, CVE-2024-4956, CVE-2021-29441, and CVE-2021-44228. The workflow routed candidate findings to vulnerability-specific playbooks, but not every attempt produced confirmed access.
A separate September report described a suspected Russian-speaking threat actor using hundreds of AI agents in a campaign targeting PaperCut NG/MF. The campaign exploited CVE-2026-81578 and CVE-2026-82078, compromising at least 440 instances associated with 395 organizations.
A Validated Intelligence Event detailed the exploitation of CVE-2026-20079 and CVE-2026-20316 affecting Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) by three groups. UAT-12197 exploited CVE-2026-20079 to gain root access, deploy a JavaServer Pages (JSP) web shell and Java Archive (JAR)-based command executor, and steal authentication data. UAT-11823 exploited both flaws to establish reverse shells, exfiltrate managed-device configurations, and deploy Cyclops Blink. UAT-11988 exploited CVE-2026-20316 to deploy Qilin ransomware.
A Validated Intelligence Event linked a suspected Chinese-speaking actor to broad exploitation and targeting of internet-facing technologies beginning in May 2026. It assessed the actor as being the same as or related to Red Heron based on overlapping infrastructure, malware, and tactics, techniques, and procedures. The campaign exploited WordPress CVE-2026-63030 and CVE-2026-60137 against 49 organizations, targeted the Linux kernel through CVE-2022-0847, exploited Gitea through CVE-2026-60004, and targeted Proxmox VE CVE-2023-54391. A separate Validated Intelligence Event covered Acronis's September 13 report that Red Heron exploited CVE-2026-60004 against eleven critical-infrastructure organizations and used the resulting access for persistence, repository and database theft, credential collection, and lateral movement.
Figure 2: Diamond Model of Intrusion Analysis from an Insikt Group® research note in Recorded Future on Red Heron’s exploitation of CVE-2026-60004 (Source: Recorded Future)
A separate Validated Intelligence Event reported that NightEagle deployed the GhostContainer backdoor on Microsoft Exchange servers associated with Russian companies. Kaspersky reported that the group used compromised virtual private network credentials, extracted Exchange cryptographic keys, modified VIEWSTATE, and executed GhostContainer in memory. In one incident, NightEagle exploited CVE-2019-0708 (BlueKeep) to create a local account with administrative and remote-access privileges, then used tunneling tools, Remote Desktop Protocol, and Impacket to enable lateral movement and maintain access.
Another Validated Intelligence Event described UNC3569's active exploitation of CVE-2026-51990 affecting Tencent Sogou Input Method. The one-click chain used a crafted custom-protocol link and an outdated embedded Chromium engine, including CVE-2021-38003, to execute shellcode and deploy the GRAYRABBIT backdoor. GRAYRABBIT supports process execution, reverse shell access, file transfer, system reconnaissance, and the reflective loading of additional modules.
A TTP Instance detailed CVE-2026-88771, an improper input validation vulnerability in NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway that can enable unauthenticated root command execution. GreyNoise observed attempts to install a web shell and establish privileged access, although the threat actor did not gain a foothold on its monitored sensor. A separate TTP Instance detailed CVE-2026-88772, a separate NetScaler memory-corruption vulnerability affecting appliances with Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) enabled. Citrix confirmed exploitation, while watchTowr shared a script to detect the vulnerability.
A TTP Instance also detailed an alleged PoC for CVE-2026-86218, a static code injection vulnerability in N-able N-central. A Metasploit pull request by Rapid7 reported unauthenticated command execution with the affected service account’s privileges and disruption of an application feature until restart.
Another TTP Instance detailed CVE-2026-94127, a heap-based buffer overflow in F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) that can enable unauthenticated RCE when the product is configured as an OAuth Authorization Server with the relevant access policy and OAuth profile; watchTowr shared a script to detect the vulnerability.
A TTP Instance detailed CVE-2026-35273, a missing authentication vulnerability in Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. Mandiant and Google Threat Intelligence Group reported that UNC6240, also known as ShinyHunters, exploited exposed PeopleSoft environments to execute commands, deploy web shells, install the SIDEEYE backdoor and MeshAgent, and establish tunnels for internal discovery and lateral movement. An alleged public PoC separately claimed server-side request forgery (SSRF) and cloud execution capabilities that Insikt Group had not tested.

| CVE-2021-38003 | Memory Corruption in Chromium V8 JSON.stringify Affects Chrome, Edge, Opera CVE-2021-38003 is a memory corruption flaw in the V8 JavaScript engine used by Chromium, in which the engine's internal 'TheHole' sentinel value can leak into script-visible data during JSON.stringify processing (a heap-corruption condition tracked as CWE-122 and CWE-755). It is triggered when crafted JavaScript causes JSON.stringify to expose this internal value to script code. An attacker who can induce a victim to load malicious web content can leverage the resulting corruption, typically chained with further techniques, to execute code within the browser renderer or crash it. All users of Chromium-based browsers — explicitly including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera, and by extension other Chromium derivatives — are affected. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: the flaw was added to CISA KEV on 2021-11-03, carries a 38.6% EPSS probability of exploitation within 30 days (98th percentile), and no public proof-of-concept is known. Do: Update all Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera, and any Chromium-embedded or Electron-style applications in your estate) to the latest vendor-patched releases, per the CISA KEV required action to apply updates per vendor instructions. Verify remediated browser versions via enterprise update management and browser version reporting, prioritizing user workstations and externally reachable systems. Because exploitation is confirmed in the wild, treat unpatched Chromium browsers as an active exposure rather than a theoretical risk. | 8.8 | 39% | KEV PoC |

| CVE-2021-44228 | JNDI Injection Remote Code Execution in Apache Log4j2 (Log4Shell) Apache Log4j2, an extremely widely used Java logging library, fails to protect its JNDI lookup feature against attacker-controlled JNDI-related endpoints (CWE-20, CWE-502), so crafted text processed by the logger causes the Java runtime to fetch and load attacker-supplied objects, leading to remote code execution. The flaw is triggered whenever attacker-controlled input reaches the logging API and is parsed for JNDI lookups, a pattern common in web servers and enterprise Java applications that log user-supplied fields such as headers or form values. Successful exploitation yields arbitrary code execution under the privileges of the affected application, giving attackers a foothold for lateral movement, data theft, and ransomware deployment. Any Java application or product that ships or bundles an affected Apache Log4j2 release is exposed, making this one of the most broadly deployed vulnerabilities ever disclosed. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: CISA added it to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2021-12-10 with known ransomware use, and EPSS assigns a 100% probability of exploitation within 30 days. Do: Inventory all Java applications and dependencies for Apache Log4j2 and apply the vendor's patched updates, or remove affected assets from the network, as required by CISA's KEV catalog. Where updates are not yet available, use the temporary mitigations in CISA's ED-22-02 recommended-mitigation guidance, such as disabling message lookups, only until patches are applied. Prioritize internet-facing and business-critical systems and hunt for exploitation activity given known ransomware use. | 10.0 | 100% | KEV ransomware PoC ×9 |

| CVE-2022-0847 | Local Privilege Escalation ('Dirty Pipe') in the Linux Kernel CVE-2022-0847, widely known as 'Dirty Pipe,' is a privilege escalation flaw in the Linux kernel caused by improper initialization of the 'flags' member of the new pipe buffer structure in the copy_page_to_iter_pipe and push_pipe functions, allowing stale flag values to persist (CWE-665). An unprivileged local user can trigger the flaw by writing through a pipe into the page cache of files they can read, overwriting the contents of otherwise read-only files. This enables tampering with privileged files — for example, hijacking SUID binaries per the public proof-of-concepts — to escalate privileges to root on the local system. Affected products include the Linux kernel as tracked by CISA, with downstream distribution and appliance vendors Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (including EUS, IBM Z, Power little-endian, and Real Time/NFV variants), oVirt, NetApp, Siemens, and SonicWall. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: the flaw is on CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog (added 2022-04-25), carries an 89.7% EPSS probability of exploitation within 30 days, and multiple public proof-of-concept exploits are available. Do: Apply vendor-supplied fixed kernel updates immediately per the CISA KEV required action, including patches from Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (all listed variants) and from oVirt, NetApp, Siemens, and SonicWall appliances or products that embed affected kernels; verify the running kernel version on hosts, container hosts, and appliances and reboot into the patched kernel. There is no complete workaround — the kernel itself must be patched — so prioritize multi-user servers, systems running untrusted code or containers, and internet-exposed appliances, since any local account can gain root. | 7.8 | 93% | KEV PoC ×4 |

| CVE-2022-22965 | Unauthenticated RCE in VMware Spring Framework (Spring4Shell) - JDK 9+ Tomcat WARs CVE-2022-22965 ('Spring4Shell') is a critical (CVSS 9.8) remote code execution flaw in VMware's Spring Framework, caused by insecure data binding that lets unauthenticated attackers overwrite internal class and module properties through crafted request parameters (CWE-94, code injection). It affects Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux applications running on JDK 9 or later; the demonstrated exploit path requires a Tomcat WAR deployment, while applications packaged as Spring Boot executable jars are not exploitable that way, though the underlying issue may be reachable via other routes. A successful attack yields full remote code execution with the privileges of the application server, with no authentication or user interaction required. VMware Spring Framework 5.3.0-5.3.17 and 5.2.0-5.2.19 (plus older releases) are affected, and the flaw also impacts bundled products from Cisco, Oracle, Siemens and Veritas, including multiple Oracle Communications Cloud Native Core components. It is being actively exploited in the wild: added to CISA's KEV on 2022-04-04, EPSS puts 30-day exploitation probability at 99.6% (100th percentile), a public PoC is available, and mass scanning of vulnerable servers has been observed. Do: Upgrade Spring Framework to 5.3.18, 5.2.20 or later (or apply vendor-supplied fixes for bundled products, e.g., via Oracle's patch release and Cisco's advisory), prioritizing internet-facing Tomcat WAR deployments on JDK 9+; this is a CISA KEV entry, so treat patching as urgent. If patching must wait, mitigate by running on JDK 8, deploying as a Spring Boot executable jar rather than a WAR on Tomcat, and applying the vendor-documented workaround that disallows 'class.*', 'Class.*' and 'module.*' fields in data binding. Inventory exposed Tomcat/Spring services and hunt for signs of exploitation given confirmed in-the-wild use. | 9.8 | 100% | KEV PoC |

| CVE-2025-25249 | Heap-Based Buffer Overflow in Fortinet FortiOS, FortiSwitchManager, and FortiSASE CVE-2025-25249 is a heap-based buffer overflow (CWE-122/CWE-787) in Fortinet FortiOS, FortiSwitchManager, and FortiSASE that allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands. It is triggered by sending specially crafted packets to an affected device, causing an out-of-bounds write in heap memory that can be leveraged for code execution. Successful exploitation gives attackers command execution on the appliance; in observed intrusions against FortiGate firewalls, attackers have deployed custom Node.js malware and a post-exploitation RAT dubbed PivotC2. Any organization running the affected Fortinet products is at risk, with internet-facing FortiGate firewalls the primary concern. The flaw was added to CISA's KEV on 2026-09-09, confirming active exploitation in the wild (ransomware use unknown); no public PoC is known. Do: Upgrade FortiOS, FortiSwitchManager, and FortiSASE in accordance with Fortinet's advisory (specific fixed versions are not listed in the available data), prioritizing internet-exposed FortiGate firewalls per CISA KEV and BOD 26-04 timelines. Hunt for signs of compromise, including custom Node.js malware and the PivotC2 RAT, on FortiGate devices, and review exposure and access logs for admin/SSL-VPN interfaces. If patching is not possible, apply vendor-recommended mitigations or, per BOD 26-04, discontinue use of the exposed product. | 9.8 | 4% | KEV PoC |

| CVE-2025-39682 | Improper Condition Check in Linux Kernel kTLS Receive Path Enables Local Info Leak/DoS The Linux kernel's in-kernel TLS (kTLS) implementation mishandles zero-length records on the rx_list: each recvmsg() call must process either contiguous DATA records or a single non-DATA record, and the missed corner case occurs when the initial record is pulled from the rx_list and is zero length, breaking the check on record-type changes after zero-copy decryption. A local, low-privileged attacker able to use kTLS sockets can trigger this flaw, and the CVSS vector indicates high confidentiality impact (kernel information disclosure) and high availability impact (crash/DoS), with no integrity impact. Any Linux deployment running a kernel with the TLS (kTLS) feature enabled is affected, including Debian systems, which are listed as affected vendors in CISA's data. | CVE-2025-39964 | Race Condition in Linux Kernel Crypto Socket (af_alg_sendmsg) CVE-2025-39964 is a race condition (CWE-362) in the Linux kernel's AF_ALG crypto socket interface: the af_alg_sendmsg function did not prevent concurrent writes to the same socket, so two simultaneous writes could interleave data unpredictably and leave the kernel's internal socket state inconsistent. It is triggered by a local user (or local process) issuing concurrent write/sendmsg operations on the same AF_ALG socket, which is why the CVSS v3.1 score is low (3.3, local vector, low availability impact). An attacker exploiting the race primarily gains the ability to corrupt socket state, with potential for degraded availability; confidentiality and integrity are not rated as impacted. Any Linux kernel deployment whose build includes the vulnerable af_alg code is affected, though exploitation requires the ability to run local code that uses the crypto socket API. CISA added the flaw to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-09-18, indicating known exploitation in the wild per CISA, but no public proof-of-concept is known and ransomware use is unknown; EPSS estimates a 0.3% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days. Do: Apply a kernel update from your distribution or vendor that includes the upstream fix 'crypto: af_alg - Disallow concurrent writes in af_alg_sendmsg'; CISA KEV requires mitigating per BOD 26-04 guidance, so prioritize internet-exposed and multi-user systems. | CVE-2026-19490 | Remote Authentication Bypass in Citrix NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway Citrix NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway contain an authentication-bypass vulnerability (CWE-288, 'using an alternate path or channel') that an unauthenticated remote threat actor can exploit. The flaw is triggerable when the appliance is configured as an AAA virtual server or as a Gateway, including SSL VPN, ICA Proxy, CVPN, or RDP Proxy deployments, allowing the attacker to bypass authentication without valid credentials. A successful bypass could give an attacker access to VPN-protected or AAA-gated resources as an authenticated user; no CVSS score has been published yet. Organizations running affected NetScaler appliances in these configurations are exposed, and affected version ranges are not specified in the available data, so defenders should consult Citrix advisory AL26-019. | CVE-2026-20079 | Authentication bypass to root access in Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center CVE-2026-20079 is an authentication bypass (CWE-288) in the web interface of Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) Software, caused by an improper system process created at boot time. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit it by sending crafted HTTP requests to the FMC web interface, which allows the execution of script files and commands on the device. A successful exploit grants the attacker root access to the underlying operating system, giving full control of the management platform (CVSS 3.1: 10.0, network-exploitable, no privileges or user interaction required, scope changed). The flaw affects Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) and Security Cloud Control (SCC) Firewall Management deployments. Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability is being exploited in active attacks, it carries a 35.9% EPSS score (98th percentile), and CISA added it to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-09-09. Do: Upgrade FMC (and SCC Firewall Management tenants) to the fixed release specified in Cisco's advisory, prioritizing internet-exposed or externally reachable management interfaces; CISA KEV action applies to federal agencies under BOD 26-04. | CVE-2026-39987 | Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution in Marimo Python Notebook Marimo, a reactive Python notebook, contains an unauthenticated remote code execution flaw (CVE-2026-39987, CWE-306; CVSS 4.0: 9.3 Critical) because its terminal WebSocket endpoint /terminal/ws skips authentication entirely. Unlike other WebSocket endpoints such as /ws, which call validate_auth(), /terminal/ws only checks the running mode and platform support before accepting connections, so any unauthenticated attacker who can reach the server can obtain a full PTY shell and execute arbitrary system commands on the host. All marimo deployments running versions prior to 0.23.0 are affected, with internet-exposed instances at greatest risk. Exploitation is confirmed in the wild: the flaw was added to CISA's KEV catalog on 2026-04-23, public PoCs exist, and reporting shows it was exploited within roughly 10 hours of disclosure, with observed post-exploitation activity involving LLM agents. EPSS assigns a 98.9% probability of exploitation within 30 days (100th percentile). Do: Upgrade marimo to 0.23.0 or later; until patched, restrict access to the /terminal/ws WebSocket endpoint by binding the notebook to localhost, a VPN, or an authenticating reverse proxy. | CVE-2026-42016 | Token Scope Validation Flaw Enables Privilege Escalation in JFrog Artifactory JFrog Artifactory (Self-Hosted) versions before 7.133.11 fail to validate a token's scope, checking only the token's signature and issuer, which constitutes an incorrect authorization flaw (CWE-863). A remote, authenticated user with low privileges can obtain or present a token whose scope is never verified, bypassing authorization checks and escalating to higher privileges. Successful attackers gain administrative control of the Artifactory instance; in observed attacks this flaw has been chained with CVE-2026-42018 and CVE-2026-82329 to bypass authentication, take admin control, and deploy backdoor malware. Only self-hosted Artifactory deployments are within the stated affected scope. | CVE-2026-42018 | Improper Authentication in JFrog Artifactory Exposes Internal Anonymous Tokens JFrog Artifactory contains an improper authentication flaw (CWE-287) in which the server may return its internal anonymous-user token to an unauthenticated caller, even on instances where anonymous access is disabled. An attacker triggers the issue by sending unauthenticated requests to the affected Artifactory interface over the network; the vector requires no privileges or user interaction and is of low complexity. Successful abuse yields the internal anonymous-user token, which can then be used to reach sensitive resources (such as repositories or artifacts) that should be protected when anonymous access is disabled, with high confidentiality impact but no integrity or availability impact. Any organization running an affected JFrog Artifactory deployment - particularly those relying on disabled anonymous access as a control - is affected, though only instances where the vulnerable endpoint is reachable are actually exposed. Exploitation has been reported in the wild as part of an ongoing Artifactory attack campaign alongside CVE-2026-42016 and CVE-2026-82329, although there is no public PoC and the flaw is not yet in the CISA KEV catalog. Do: Upgrade Artifactory to the fixed release identified in JFrog's security advisory (JFrog is the assigning CNA; exact version numbers are not included in the available data). Until patched, restrict unauthenticated network access to Artifactory, verify the anonymous-access configuration, and review logs for unauthenticated requests that retrieved tokens or accessed sensitive resources. | CVE-2026-48710 | HTTP Request Smuggling in Kludex Starlette (CVE-2026-48710) Kludex Starlette prior to version 1.0.1 did not validate the HTTP Host request header before using it to reconstruct request.url, an inconsistency classified as HTTP request/response smuggling (CWE-444). Because routing operates on the raw ASGI scope path while request.url is rebuilt from the unvalidated Host header, an attacker can send a malformed Host header so that request.url.path differs from the path the router actually processed. Any middleware or endpoint that enforces security restrictions based on request.url rather than the raw scope path can then be tricked into approving requests that should have been blocked, bypassing those controls. All Starlette deployments below 1.0.1 are affected, both direct users and downstream products that bundle the library, including Red Hat offerings such as Ansible Automation Platform, OpenShift AI, OpenShift Lightspeed, Satellite, AI Inference Server, Migration Toolkit for Applications, and Enterprise Linux AI. CISA added the flaw to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-09-02, confirming active exploitation; related reporting describes attackers deploying reverse shells and crypto miners, and EPSS ranks it in the 98th percentile with a 36.3% probability of exploitation within 30 days. | CVE-2026-49869 | Authentication bypass leading to unauthenticated RCE in Kestra OSS CVE-2026-49869 is a critical (CVSS 3.1: 10.0) authentication bypass in the open-source Kestra event-driven orchestration platform: the AuthenticationFilter exempts the public configuration endpoint from Basic Auth using a suffix match (request paths ending in "/configs") rather than an exact path comparison. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker can call any API URL whose final path segment is "configs", which is enough to create and execute arbitrary workflows without credentials. Because Kestra ships with script execution plugins (plugin-script-shell, plugin-script-python, etc.) enabled by default, this directly yields unauthenticated remote code execution as root inside the Kestra worker container. All Kestra OSS deployments prior to 1.0.45 and 1.3.21 are affected, with the greatest risk for instances whose API is reachable from the internet or untrusted networks. The flaw is being actively exploited: CISA added it to the KEV catalog on 2026-09-02 (EPSS 1.9%, percentile 79), and headlines covering the KEV batch report attackers deploying reverse shells and crypto miners. Do: Upgrade to Kestra 1.0.45 (for the 1.0.x line) or 1.3.21 (for the 1.3.x line), or later releases that incorporate the fix. | CVE-2026-53266 | Out-of-Bounds Write in Linux Kernel ebtables SNAT ARP Rewrite (netfilter bridge) CVE-2026-53266 is an out-of-bounds write (CWE-787) in the Linux kernel's netfilter bridge ebtables SNAT target: when the optional ARP sender-hardware-address rewrite is active, the kernel writes the new MAC address via skb_store_bits() without first making that byte range writable. If the ARP sender hardware address bytes sit in a nonlinear skb fragment backed by a splice-imported file page, the write maps the fragment page and copies the MAC directly into a file-backed page-cache page, corrupting kernel-managed memory. A local, low-privileged attacker (for example a container tenant, VM, or user able to send traffic into a bridge using ebtables SNAT with ARP rewriting) can trigger this with crafted ARP packets, gaining kernel memory corruption usable for privilege escalation or integrity/availability impact (CVSS 3.1 8.8, scope changed). Any Linux system running a kernel with the vulnerable ebtables SNAT code in a bridged-networking configuration that performs this ARP rewrite is affected; the source data does not state specific affected version ranges. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can craft a JWT with an unsupported algorithm and present it to gain unauthorized access, up to and including compromise of administrative accounts and full account takeover. The flaw carries a CVSS 3.1 base score of 10.0 (scope changed) and 9.8 in single-tenant deployments, and affects WSO2 API Manager, API Control Plane, Traffic Manager, and Universal Gateway; the CISA catalog entry titles it as a path traversal issue, but the technical description is a JWT signature-validation bypass. The bug is triggered after login by sending crafted input that SharePoint processes and executes, so any account with basic access to the SharePoint site — including a standard user — is a viable attack path. Successful exploitation yields remote code execution on the SharePoint server with the privileges of the SharePoint service account, threatening full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CVSS 8.8). Notably, Microsoft initially classified the flaw as spoofing before it was recharacterized as authenticated RCE, and Canada's Cyber Centre has issued advisory AL26-023 about it. CVE-2026-67277+1 related CVE | Unauthenticated Kernel Crash and Memory Leak in MikroTik RouterOS btest CVE-2026-67277 is a missing-authentication flaw (CWE-306) in the bandwidth-test (btest) service of MikroTik RouterOS: the service accepts a "related" btest connection before the primary session has completed authentication, so an unauthenticated remote client can start an IPv4 UDP bandwidth test. When the test runs with "random-data=false", the sender transmits an uninitialized tail from a kernel packet buffer, leaking a small amount of kernel memory, and a separate unchecked, inverted packet-size interval causes an unsigned integer underflow that produces anomalously large fragmented output capable of restarting the RouterOS kernel. An unauthenticated network attacker therefore gains limited information disclosure and, more significantly, a remote denial of service through repeated router crashes, with no credentials or user interaction required (CVSS 4.0: 8.8 High). Any MikroTik device running an unpatched RouterOS version with the bandwidth-test server enabled and reachable from an untrusted network is affected. No public PoC or CISA KEV listing exists for this CVE and EPSS is low (0.4%), but it is part of the batch of RouterOS fixes in MikroTik advisory AV26-887 that attackers have recently chained to hijack routers, so in-the-wild exploitation of the flaw set is reported. | CVE-2026-76504 | Unauthenticated admin API auth bypass in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager has a critical flaw in how it manages API session authentication. Improper handling of URI encoding in an HTTP request can bypass an authentication rule that is supposed to restrict a specific API endpoint. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a crafted HTTP request and gain access to the API with admin privileges, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CVSS 9.8). Organizations that run Catalyst SD-WAN Manager are affected; the provided data does not list vulnerable or fixed version ranges. No public proof-of-concept is known and the issue is not in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Do: Install Cisco's fixed release for Catalyst SD-WAN Manager as soon as it is available for your deployment; the supplied data does not name vulnerable or fixed versions. Until patched, keep the Manager API off the internet and limit it to trusted management networks, and review API logs for unexpected unauthenticated requests that reach admin-only endpoints. | 9.8 | 2% | KEV PoC |

| CVE-2026-81963 | Local Privilege Escalation via Link Following in Windows Update Stack CVE-2026-81963 is a link-following flaw (CWE-59, improper link resolution before file access) in the Microsoft Windows Update Stack, in which the component fails to correctly resolve file links before opening them. A local attacker with low privileges can plant or manipulate a link (symlink/junction) that the privileged update stack follows during operation, redirecting its file access to an attacker-controlled target. The result is local privilege escalation — CVSS 3.1 rates this 7.8 (high) with high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact — allowing an authorized local user or malware already on the machine to gain elevated rights. Affected products are Windows 11 23H2, 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1 and Windows Server 2025; any unpatched system on those versions is exposed to any local account holder. The flaw was fixed in Microsoft's record September 2026 Patch Tuesday (974 CVEs), was added to CISA's KEV on 2026-09-08 as one of two Windows zero-days reported as exploited in the wild, and has no known public PoC or confirmed ransomware use. Do: Immediately deploy the September 2026 Patch Tuesday cumulative updates to every Windows 11 23H2/24H2/25H2/26H1 and Windows Server 2025 host; as a KEV entry under BOD 26-04, prioritize internet-exposed and high-value assets, apply vendor mitigations (or discontinue use) where patching is delayed, and follow CISA's forensics triage requirements if compromise is suspected. Verify deployment via patch telemetry and review which local accounts can trigger update-stack activity on shared or multi-user systems. | 7.8 | <1% | KEV |
