Dynin-Robotics: Omnimodal Unified Diffusion Vision-Language-Action Model

Dynin-Robotics unifies action, goal, and dynamics prediction in one omnimodal masked-diffusion VLA model, reaching 78.4% success on Franka Research 3 manipulation tasks.

Built on the Dynin-Omni masked-diffusion backbone, the model represents language, observations, goals, and actions as discrete tokens and is continually pretrained on roughly 1.33 million trajectories from 48 Open X-Embodiment datasets. The shared trajectory interface enables test-time scaling via goal prediction, action-candidate evaluation, and joint action/future-state refinement. It achieves competitive results on LIBERO and zero-shot LIBERO-Plus, 78.4% average success across four Franka Research 3 conditions, and up to 29.2x faster model-side action decoding from a block-parallel implementation.

Patch Tuesday - September 2026

Microsoft's September 2026 Patch Tuesday fixes 999 CVEs, a record, with two zero-day privilege escalation flaws already exploited in the wild.

Microsoft published 974 own-product vulnerabilities plus 25 non-Microsoft CVEs, totaling 999 — the most CVEs Microsoft has ever released in a single day. Two flaws are exploited in the wild: CVE-2026-85880, an out-of-bounds write in Windows ALPC granting SYSTEM privileges, and CVE-2026-81963, an improper link resolution flaw in the Windows Update Stack also leading to SYSTEM. Chrome's V8 zero-day CVE-2026-85046 was patched in Edge on September 2, but Microsoft had not published a corresponding advisory, leaving uncertainty about other Chromium fixes in Edge. October 14 lifecycle changes end servicing for Windows 11 24H2 Home/Pro, Office 2021, and Exchange Server 2016/2019.

Semigroup-JEPA: Latent Dynamics Consistency for Zero-Shot Physics Generalization

SG-JEPA world model conditions latent prediction on physical parameters, halving open-loop prediction error versus DINO-WM and boosting robotic control success.

SG-JEPA extends the LeWorldModel JEPA framework by supplying the governing physics parameter to the temporal model via action-conditioning and jointly training an encoder and predictor through autoregressive latent rollout. On out-of-distribution gravitational-field tasks it reduces open-loop prediction error by up to 2x versus DINO-WM on 2D datasets and increases 3D robotic control success rate up to 2.5x using independently trained diffusion policies. A linear feature analysis attributes most of the gain to the encoder learning features that the predictor can carry forward through rollout.

GE-Act 2.0: Pretraining and Scaling a World-Action Model for Robotic Manipulation

GE-Act 2.0 is a from-scratch pretrained world-action model for robotic manipulation, with success rising from 17.1% to 44.1% as co-training data scales to 30,000 hours.

Genie Envisioner Act 2.0 (GE-Act 2.0) is a world-action model whose generative and action components are all initialized from scratch on manipulation data, combining a control-oriented autoencoder (CoAE), single-step visual planner (SVP), and inverse dynamics model (IDM) trained jointly via knowledge-aligned selective optimization (KASO). Scaling co-training data from 300 to 30,000 hours raises zero-shot success from 17.1% to 44.1% on G1-OP and 13.4% to 31.1% on G2-90D, despite the latter comprising under 2% of data, suggesting cross-embodiment transfer. A Hybrid LSTM-XGBoost Framework for Multi-Horizon Stock Return Prediction Across Diversified Equity Portfolios

Hybrid LSTM-XGBoost model predicts multi-horizon returns for 14 US equities, cutting 30-day RMSE to about one-third of a standalone LSTM baseline.

The paper combines a two-layer LSTM (64 hidden units) processing 60-day windows of five market features with an XGBoost regressor over a 78-dimensional hybrid feature vector including 14 technical indicators. It is trained on pooled data for 14 US equities across six sectors using chronological splits and per-stock MinMaxScaling to prevent look-ahead bias, and evaluated at 30, 90, 252, and 365 trading-day horizons. The hybrid achieves test RMSE of 0.0949 at 30 days, roughly one-third of the standalone LSTM, while 97.6% directional accuracy at 365 days largely tracks the base rate of positive returns.

Australia is replacing the Essential Eight with a new cyber framework. Here’s how exposure management can help you get ahead of it.

Australia's ASD is replacing the Essential Eight with an outcomes-based Essentials series covering IT, cloud, OT and likely agentic AI, with deprecation from mid-2027.

The Australian Signals Directorate announced in June 2026 that the Essential Eight will be replaced by an outcomes-focused Essentials series structured as chapters covering enterprise IT (including identity and SaaS), cloud, OT, and likely agentic AI. Deprecation begins around mid-2027 with full retirement around mid-2028, though timelines are targets; the Essential Eight is mandatory for roughly 98 non-corporate Commonwealth entities but voluntary for private firms. Tenable argues the shift demands continuous security posture evidence via exposure management rather than point-in-time checklist assessments.

Hackers Impersonate IT Support on Microsoft Teams to Take Control of Employee PCs

Microsoft warns of a human-operated campaign where attackers pose as IT support in Teams to gain remote PC control and reach domain controllers.

Microsoft Threat Intelligence observed attackers abusing Microsoft Teams external collaboration to impersonate IT/helpdesk staff, persuading employees to grant screen control via Quick Assist or RMM tools. Operators deploy malicious MSI packages via silent msiexec, run encrypted JavaScript implants through portable Node.js, and persist via EdgeUpdate Run keys or Startup folder entries. The Node.js backdoor uses HTTPS long-polling C2, captures screenshots, enumerates Active Directory, and moves laterally over WinRM (TCP 5985) to domain controllers and certificate authorities. Initial access maps to MITRE ATT&CK T1566.003 (Spearphishing via Service); no Teams vulnerability is exploited.

VidaForge: Open Research Infrastructure for Video Pretraining Data Recipes

VidaForge releases open infrastructure and VIDAFORGE-3M (3.14M clips, 6,475 hours) linking video pretraining data recipes to downstream model performance.

VidaForge is an open research infrastructure that represents a video pretraining data recipe as an executable five-stage workflow from raw videos to training datasets. The team compares data recipes with different coverage and quality during early from-scratch pretraining of Wan 2.1 and V-JEPA 2.1, finding that broader-coverage recipes achieve the highest downstream benchmark scores while loss-based evaluation favors different recipes. They also release VIDAFORGE-3M, containing 3.14 million scene-level clips totaling 6,475 hours with fine-grained annotations and curation signals for video data-recipe research.

Impersonating IT support: how threat actors turn a remote session into enterprise-wide access

Microsoft details Teams IT-support impersonation campaigns deploying Node.js implants, AD reconnaissance, and WinRM lateral movement toward domain controllers.

Microsoft Threat Intelligence describes a human-operated campaign where attackers impersonate IT/helpdesk staff via Microsoft Teams external collaboration, talk users into granting remote sessions, and use RMM tools for interactive access. During the session they run PowerShell to silently install a malicious MSI that stages a portable Node.js runtime and obfuscated JavaScript implant for C2, executing follow-on payloads via rundll32. Operators then perform host and Active Directory reconnaissance, capture desktop screenshots, and pivot via WinRM on port 5985 to domain controllers and certificate authorities. The hands-on-keyboard chain, which can precede data theft and ransomware, blends into normal operations by relying on Teams, Quick Assist, msiexec, and Node.js; Microsoft shares hunting and mitigation guidance.
