CVE-2026-9586 | Sangoma Switchvox Unauthenticated SQL Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
CVE-2026-9586, a critical unauthenticated SQL injection to RCE in Sangoma Switchvox, is being actively exploited against internet-facing systems per honeypot observations.
CVE-2026-9586 (CVSS 4.0: 9.3) is an unauthenticated SQL injection in the /pa endpoint of Sangoma Switchvox SMB Edition, where the unsanitized PhoneIP value in XML phone notification requests reaches the PostgreSQL database. Horizon3 demonstrated escalation to OS command execution, and honeypots run with Defused Cyber observed exploitation attempts on August 30, 2026, using PostgreSQL commands with nc and curl. Fixed in Switchvox 8.4.0.2 released July 14, 2026; one attacker IP (176.65.148.184) was documented.
Exposed Vite servers are being probed for AWS and Azure credentials
F5 honeypots logged 32,000+ probes against Vite file-access bypass CVE-2026-39364, hunting AWS and Azure credentials on exposed dev servers.
F5 Labs reported 32,000+ scan attempts (807 attack sessions) against exposed Vite servers in August, up from 1,732 attempts over the prior three months. Attackers exploited CVE-2026-39364 (CVSS 8.2), which bypasses Vite's server.fs.deny protection via parameters like ?raw and ?import&raw, affecting Vite 7.1.0 to before 7.3.2 and Vite 8 before 8.0.5. Scanners cycled wordlists for environment files, AWS keys, Azure tokens and IaC state files, also combining older Vite CVEs (2025-30208, 2025-31125, 2024-45811) and probing a Next.js middleware bypass. Only CVE-2025-31125 is currently in CISA's KEV catalog.
Redtail Payload Analysis [Guest Diary], (Wed, Sep 9th)
SANS guest analyst detonated a RedTail Linux sample from a DShield honeypot, finding process masquerading as php-fpm, monitoring-kill behavior, and a TCP listener.
A DShield honeypot captured multi-architecture RedTail Linux executables (ARM, ARM64, i686, RISC-V, x86-64) deployed via shell scripts. Dynamic analysis of the UPX-packed, statically linked x86-64 sample (SHA-256 63be5f38...d35e) in an isolated Ubuntu 24.04 VM on Proxmox showed it renamed its process via prctl(PR_SET_NAME), killed a filesystem-monitoring process, and opened a TCP listening socket while surviving processes posed as php-fpm or PostgreSQL-like workers. Differential memory images pre- and post-execution were captured from the hypervisor for forensics.
Exploitation of Sangoma Switchvox flaw is underway (CVE-2026-9586)
Attackers actively exploit SQL injection flaw CVE-2026-9586 in unauthenticated Sangoma Switchvox endpoints, dropping reverse shells and second-stage cryptominer malware.
CVE-2026-9586, an unauthenticated SQL injection in Sangoma Switchvox SMB Edition 8.3, lets crafted HTTP POST requests execute arbitrary SQL against the backend PostgreSQL database. Horizon3 honeypots first saw exploitation on August 30, 2026 from IP 176.65.148.184, and dozens of additional source IPs have since joined with scanning payloads and second-stage malware that appears to be a cryptominer. The flaw was patched in Switchvox 8.4.0.2 on July 14, 2026; roughly 4,000 exposed instances exist, mostly in the United States, and exploitation is likely against most of them.
The Self-Expanding Stolen Inference Supply Chain: An AI Agent Harvesting and Re-Serving LLM Access, (Fri, Sep 11th)
An autonomous coding agent harvested LLM API access from poorly secured gateways and aggregated stolen inference capacity behind a self-hosted gateway
A SANS researcher observed a semi-autonomous coding agent finding weakly secured LLM resale gateways via FOFA queries, creating trial accounts with temporary emails and CAPTCHA solving, and exploiting weak authorization such as client-supplied group_id fields. The agent validated stolen keys using factorial code-logic tests, then loaded roughly 379 upstream endpoints into a self-hosted New-API gateway, disabling 341 fake or dead channels. Five model names including claude-opus-5 and gpt-5.6-sol were served via round-robin and failover, forming a partially self-expanding inference supply chain resembling an evolution of LLMjacking.
Nearly 1 in 10 Exposed LiteLLM Gateways Accepted the Example "sk-1234" Admin Key
Wiz found 294 of 3,074 internet-facing LiteLLM gateways accepted the documented default admin key sk-1234, exposing provider API keys and cloud IAM credentials.
Wiz Research's February Shodan scan found 3,074 LiteLLM gateways, 294 of which accepted the setup guide's sk-1234 admin key; 191 had no master key set and would accept any credential. The master key doubles as the authentication switch, and before 1.82.0-stable a gateway started without one granted every request full admin rights, exposing stored provider API keys, prompts, and MCP-connected tools. A documented pass-through endpoint lacks checks against private and cloud metadata addresses, letting an admin-key holder retrieve cloud IAM credentials, though no real-world abuse is reported. Related LiteLLM flaws include CVE-2026-59821 (disputed guardrail code execution), CVE-2026-59822 (CVSS 8.8, added to CISA KEV on September 2 and observed against Wiz honeypots), and CVE-2026-42271, used to install a cryptominer.
Off Guard: Breaking LiteLLM from authentication bypass to cloud compromise
Wiz found LiteLLM auth bypass (CVE-2026-59822) and post-auth RCE (CVE-2026-59821) chainable to cloud compromise; the bypass is in CISA KEV with in-the-wild exploitation.
Wiz scanned roughly 3,074 internet-facing LiteLLM deployments and found 9.6% accepted the default master key sk-1234 or required no authentication, making post-auth attacks effectively pre-auth. The MCP endpoint accepts any Bearer token and grants a valid session (CVE-2026-59822), confirmed exploited in the wild via honeypots and added to CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Custom code guardrails allow post-auth root-level RCE via exec(compile(...)) (CVE-2026-59821), while pass-through endpoints lack URL validation, enabling cloud credential theft in post-auth scenarios. All assigned vulnerabilities have been patched; the research was presented at DEF CON 34.
The Oracle of Delphi Will Steal Your Credentials
Akamai honeypots reveal attackers brute-forcing RDP credentials to download and execute a previously undetected malware family named Trojan.sysscan.
Akamai's deception technology rerouted intruders into honeypots, revealing attacks that brute-force passwords for RDP credentials to access victims. Once connected, the attackers download and execute a previously undetected malware family that Akamai named Trojan.sysscan. The intrusions target exposed RDP services through opportunistic credential guessing.
August 2026 CVE Landscape

Wiz deployed AI infrastructure honeypots and observed active attack campaigns over a 90-day window. Attackers targeted LiteLLM, MCP servers, and popular AI frameworks using techniques including remote code execution, blind prompt injection, and memory credential theft. The findings show exposed AI infrastructure is being actively targeted in the wild.
U.S. CISA adds maximum-severity Oracle flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog
CISA added actively exploited CVE-2026-21962, a CVSS 10.0 unauthenticated flaw in Oracle HTTP Server and WebLogic Proxy Plug-in, to KEV with an August 27 deadline.
CISA added CVE-2026-21962 (CVSS 10.0), an improper access control vulnerability in Oracle HTTP Server and the Oracle WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and ordered federal agencies to remediate by August 27, 2026. The unauthenticated flaw allows remote attackers with network access to create, delete, or modify critical data, potentially gain broad access, and cause a scope change to other systems; affected versions are 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. CloudSEK honeypot data from January-February 2026 showed widespread exploitation of the flaw alongside older WebLogic RCEs including CVE-2020-14882/14883, CVE-2020-2551, and CVE-2017-10271.
